"A police officer allegedly captured on CCTV cameras kicking a handcuffed black man in Greater Manchester will not face criminal charges. "

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/4131798.stm

Saw the video to this last night on the news and I couldn't beleive what I was hearing. The police officer can clearly be seen on the CCTV footgae kicking this guy who is pinned down on the floor by two other officers 3-4 times. He even has the awareness to stop kicking when somebody walks past! What a fcuking joke!

This may seem wrong but the male who was "kicked" has admitted to resisting arrest thus allowing officers the reasonable use of force. However a decision to take no further action would have gone through the Crown Prosecution Service - independant of the police - for this decision. Finally the police officer will still be investigated by the Independant Police Complaints Commission and may well face displinary proceedings which essentially is two bites at the cherry for "prosecuting" the officer and for anyone else this would not be allowed.

You dont have two officers pinning a guy down for no reason. Little shit was smashing up a bus stop then had a go at the police trying to stop him.

Give the fecker a good kicking, serves him rite.

It appears that some people think it is okay for a civilian to commit a crime but then as soon as a police officer is accused of a crime it becomes the crime of the century.

Yeah, bet they are saying its cos he was coloured that he was kicked, not cos he was being a c*nt

How do you justify kicking a handcuffed man lying on the floor as reasonable force? EVEN if he was struggling he aint going anywhere is he! And then to smash his head on the van door!

Don't disagree that the guy is a twat for vandalising a bus stop, but the police are NOT ther to hand out punishments.

I think he actually smashed a bus stop whilst two girls were sitting in it and covered them in glass if i remember correctly,

deserved a kickin

why not the courts dont seem to want to do it. If your an asshole and somebody smacks you for it then tough sh1t.

I am no big fan of the police but I aint got any time for jumped up little sh1ts either

here we have a double edged sword part of you commends their actions in a state that just doesnt have enough punishment for crime these days yet the other side of the argument is that as police they have to be over and above the actions they took........these days you can get away with far too much i know as ive done it and yet when i was a kid i was more scared of the police as they then used to cuff you round the ear and then get ure parents in....corporal punishment in schools is something else that is sadly lacking

im an ex miltary police my sister too and my father was a civvy officer.

problem these days with the civvys is that they seem to have forgotten one thing, they are there to enforce the law , these days they think they are the law period.

under the pace act, civvys cannot apply undue force to a prisoner when restrained, prior to restraint they can.

wether or not the kid was doing wrong he still has rights under the laws of this country, this does not include a good kicking by the police when restrained and on the ground.

this officer has overstepped the mark plain and simple. he has clearly showed he does not have the ability to control himself in this type of situation.

At what point will he do it again or worse?

when i was still serving we had one corpral that liked using his baton a bit too much. problem is his actions reflected on us, i had to deal with him in the maner i thought necessary and he was dissmissed from the army, plain and simple, if you over step the mark in reguards to the law you get dealt with as you would deal with any criminal. A police officer is in a position where they have to separate themselves from the general populace and be able to handle any situation presented. failure to do so should result in formal prosecution, there can be no let-off's . this is why the public have lost all faith in the police.

follow up^^^^

i personally think that national service should be re-instated.

leave school and do 2-3 years service, crime would plummet overnight.

you only have to look to sweden, holland etc for an example.

And effectively target the erradication of heroin and crack cocaine. One heroin is funding terrorism and two both drugs create more hardened and desparate criminals who have to commit crime to fund their addiction.

This is how i see it..........

You takes yer chance, you pay the penalty!!

Simple as that!

I hope it fcuking hurt! Who pays for the bus shelters? Council tax payers and bus users, not this jumped up w4nker who thinks he can just go aruond smashing stuff! TBH the police need to be like this more! If someone is giving a police officer sh1t and the officer out's one of their teeth then whats the likelyhood them them giving an officer shit in the future? Considerably less that before s/he was belted! IMO of course!

no-one will know what happened and what was said in the heat of the 'arrest' but if i were one of those police officers and was confronted with a large black, ex-para, army boxing champion smashing up a bus stop i'd make damn sure the guy was subdued - for the safety of myself, the other officers involved, and the nearby public.

what if he'd have stepped back and pulled out a knife or gun?

imagine how terrified onlookers would have been - seeing this guy smash the place up?

I saw a show on Bravo the other night when two coppers pulled a car full of Chav's because the exhuast was very loud and they were driving like tw@'s and they just gave the copper a 5hit load of abuse. He held hes temper and handled the situation very well. I could not have done that. It is no wonder that every now and then they do something like this. Fair play I say the bloke asked for it.

I,m living in Germany and believe me. You 'do not' mess with the police. They are bad mean fookers. :mac1: You know where you stand with them and your not standing long if they start. I think its the same throughout most of europe. Oh, except UK........ Too many do gooders, me thinks. I agree with the above about punishment at school and National Service. Even the Army have gone softer cus of human rights this, european law that FFS :nono:

In south africa they wont think twice about puttin a bullet between ur eyes if u are being aggressive towards officers or anyone for that matter!

I must say that its a thin line they tread tho'. I have been a victim of police abuse. a long time ago. I wont bore you with the details but me and my mate were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It never did any damage just a bit of a beating. No permanant damage. and that was in the 70's

I have never managed to get myself into the situation where i have had any problems with the police, however im sure my opinion will change when i do get sh1t off them! Actually tell a lie when i was driving i managed to collect 41 "random check" slips and filed an harrassment complaint against the police... really must find out what happened to that !

This is indicative of this nanny state that new labour and a sh1t load of do good hippy arse holes have lead this country too. The country is in a complete mess do to a lack of respect for any kind of authority. When teachers aren't allowed to raise there voices to ignorant little b**tards in class only to be expected to be told to **** off by the same kids or there retarded parents. These same so call civilised people seem to think its ok to happy slap innocent passes by for fun but cry when it is given back to them. I say we sould all get a possie together & clean up these streets for once & for all. If we dealt with the little fcukers like the IRA deal with joy riders they might think twice. Rant over.

You are absolutely right Spinks. I was out in my ZED and some little 10-11 year old was on a BMX and was sat in the middle of the road. just staring at me. he eventually moved over to let me pass. I said to him "get out of the road" he said "and I was going to say nice car. but you can Fook off now w4nker". Where did he get that from?
