Hi everyone,

Just thought i would say hello. Im steve, about to turn 21 in 17 days :duffer:

I had a Hyundai coupe before this:

Had a diagreement with a Big concrete fence:

So i bought a new one, and tried to fit lambo doors:

That went a bit wron so i sold it :smash:

Now im after one of my all time fav cars, the 300zx TT.

Im looking at a 300zx TT tomorrow, jap import. Im just wondering if there are any common problems with the car that i should look out for?

Any help/advice would be appretiated.

Cheers

Steve

Im not going to mod this one, i just want a car that looks good standard, so it had to be the Zed.

Yeah i know, i was taken out in one last weekend, and that just sold the car to me, it has a massive amount of power. My red coupe was quick (2ltr running 60bhp of NOS) but not that quick. Im looking forward to being a zed owner, not too sure about the fuel bill tho :(

Welcome....

Let the cider flow :duffer: :duffer: :duffer:

Big Power if you mod them fella....

Even bigger fuel bill if you do

Please take it easy for a thousand miles or so and get used to the car, also get yourself in a car park and get the back end out a few times so you know what its like and how to control it.

300bhp on the rear wheels for the first time takes some getting used to.

Welcome to the club bud!

Dont worry i have massive respect for the car, i think i will be too scared to put my foot down for a while anyway

Thanks for the warm welcome, lets just hope the car is a good one tomorrow.

@BanditUK, thanks for the link, ive got my trusted guide now :)

I remember saying this when I first got mine 2 years on now look at it :)

welcome to the club mate

That is one hell of a leap from Hyundai Coupe to a Nissan TT! Are you sure life is worth that risk?

Im not really much of a risk taker, and you probably wont believe me but im not a boy racer (no matter what my last cars looked like) my red coupe was built as a show car, and it was, until i had a nasty accident down a county lane and some oil on the road :(

I dont really drive like a maniac, but the 300zx is a car ive always liked, I dont really want a car that ive got to plough loads of money into to make it look good, (im kind of an attention seeker when it comes to cars lol). I dont think I will be happy with anyother car for a while, not until I can afford a Dodge Viper anyway

No shame some people

got to try and help people, fed up with people buying all these dog 300's and having problems the very next day

Cant help but try

Antf, your car looks great mate with a really good spec, but im really after a manual, not offence but i personally think an Auto takes the fun out of driving.

Fair play, welcome to the world of Z's.

By the way I loved mine as standard but slowly after seeing others I want to do more to it. So beware they are a love affair.

on a more serious note though steve when you look at it fire it up and idle it for a good ten minutes and check for smoke, knocks and ticks under the bonnet and for goodness sake take it for a long drive the rest youve got from the link i hope. If and when you get one as sed above get in a wide open space and purposely lose it as you ubgrade which you willdo the same each time so you know the limits and take it easy in the wet, mine will spin the wheels in third if you boot it on a wet road!!!

No worries mate, hope the manual is all ok when you view it.

I do prefer a manual, but after driving the auto zed and with that much power it didnt bother me either way cause they both go like stink

Enjoy mate.

Thanks for all the advice guys, im looking at one in Erith, a guy called Joe is selling it he has 2 one UK spec and one Jap import, he always has 300zx's for sale, anyone bought one from him before? he seems a genuine guy, and also has one that he breaks for spares if ever i needed any.

Once again, thanks for all the advice. Once ive got it I will be sure to take it to a big open car park, just to make sure i can handle the car.

If all goes well, I will be taking the car to Donny South so if anyone is going to be there I will come say hi.

I think you should try and get a test drive in a Auto before you make your mind up and say manwell only, i dont think you are that far away so if you want to come and see what an Auto is all about, i'll take you for a spin, just let me know.

It is the UK spec one 1994 M reg, the guy had 2, one was a uk and one was a jap import, the Uk one was in much better condition to my surprise. The dash on the import had started to fall apart, probably where it was constantly in the heat. The Uk spec had full leather interior as well whereas the import didnt, and the Uk one had a CAT 1 alarm, and full service history, it even has reciepts for when the tyres were replaced!!

Im well chuffed, used my trusted guide and from what i could see/tell it was all in order.

So who will be at Donny south?

Steve

Ohhhhh a 94 UK Z!! Nice, must of been one of the last! :D

If you wanna now know the best mod its............

To subscribe to the club :D :D

All the best buddy and welcome once again!!
