Hey all,

I went to Homebase on Saturday and Nissan were in the carpark with a couple of demo cars. IIRC they were an X-trail, a Narva truck and an Almera.

The rep was a fella in his late 20s, maybe 30 doing his best to smoothtalk any remotely attractive females passing by.

I parked directly opposite him as he showed one rather nice lady the X-trail but she had noticed my ZX and looked up - obviously saying something to him about the car.

"Nice car!" said the Nissan rep, "What is it?"

"A 300ZX," I replied

"I know that," he said, "But what make is it?"

"Ha ha ha, it's a NISSAN!!!!" I laughed as I walked off into the store....

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Sure Dan, there are some good ones - Dan Perkins Nissan in Slough are very good and they have a ZX expert in the workshop.

But I'd have thought a bloke in his late 20s/early 30s selling cars for a living would have a slight interest in them and perhaps know a bit about which car is which??

I know the feeling - a few months back I went into Camden Nissan & Renault in Aylesbury to buy a dash-board bulb.

I took the old one to the parts dept and asked the girl for "One of these please"

"What is it" she asked

"A Bulb  " I replied

"Yes, I can see that but what is it for?"

"A dash-board light in a 300ZX" I replied

"Sorry sir, we are a Renault dealer"

"Yes" I said "But you've got a bloody great NISSAN sign outside too.....

She then went out back to get someone hopefully more knowledgable and emerged with a 50-something chap in overalls

I asked him the same thing to which he replied "Sorry sir, we are a Renault dealer"

"OK OK, then why is there a bloody great Nissan sign just out there, surrounded by Micras and Primeras. Not only that but you've got a Nissan badge on your overalls too :smash: "

"No no sir, if you want Nissan parts the nearest Nissan dealer is in Oxford???"

For the sake of my own sanity I decided to leave at that point :(

It was one of the blue-coated jobbies with built-in holder for the heater control pod - Halfords didn't have anything like it ;)
