yup, but at least there is a point to it. What makes me laugh is when I hear a car revving like a ******* up the road yet they are only going 30-40 mph pmsl

I only drive the Zed hard on country roads I know or dual carraigeways, around town it's pimping time, what's the point of flying around in a Zed? No-one would see you!!

The chavscum I'm talking about are the ones that speed around crowded town centres and one way systems, funny as fook!

the funny thing is though that if that 106 had a 2.0 gti lump in it unfortunately the z would have been toast lol .... now that WOULD have been funny .... but i agree with everyone else .... keep it for real cars dude.

WHY? whats the difference because you put a 2.0 engine in a smaller car dont make it any faster than the engine is capable of does it. All these people that try to beat the 300 would be better off going out and just buying one.

theres a guy round here with 400 bhp in a nova, its got a calibra turbo engine in it, but at the end of the day novas are shite and calibra's are shite

Ultimate street car that starts up santapod tomorrow is a real eye opener for hot hatch cars!

The ones that make me laugh are Audi TT drivers! woman that drive them are even better "I own a audi TT its well fast! will beat your car" :) how bout I take you out for a spin

it sure does your power to weight ratio goes through the roof, i'm building a caterham, and it will have a durotec engine in it with only 250 bhp, but will hit 100mph in 6.9sec, coz the thing only weighs about 500 kg.

Yeah But what I mean GUV' is that a 2.0 is a 2.0? If you take it from a granada and put it in a fiesta then ok but the reference was to putting it in more or less the same sized car mate.

I'd still doubt that unless said GTi lump was heavily modded.

The pug still wouldn't hit 60 in LESS than 5.6 secs, I don't think so no quicker there and once the ZX is rolling and the tubbies are on song the Z would still be first to 100. Wouldn't be a pushover though, by any means.

10 years ago a mate put a Cav 2.0 16v in his Nova and I had a Toyota Carina E GTi (the 173bhp one - pretty quick saloon in its day).

I was still able to lose him on the a414 in Essex and I was carrying a small filing cabinet in the back FFS...... :D

My ZX would demolish that Carina.....

Richard ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

WTF?

i get what your saying vin, but the 106 gti was only a 1.6 but a 2.0 litre was only in the 306 at the time which was 136bhp (sxi) 0r in the gti6 167bhp both would be quick as the car is tiny, personally i cant drive a 106 or saxo as i have man feet and touch the break and accelarator at the same time.

If you look back on his history he has made some interesting threads... like what is the cheapest mod you can buy for your Z for about £40 odd! Classic thread if you ask me!

Maybe he's the one with the 106 that got beat and now wants to find the ZED that beat him? or maybe he's only 12? the wonder of the internet = you can be who you like. :x:

I never knew that bud. Do now. still wont beat mine.....

Only jokin Mo Fo.

yep don't care what engine you put in it, it's still a pug, front wheel drive, good for about 220bhp, then wheel spin your life away. and pedals are still to close together. i would not have given in to the pug and raced him in my zed.

Hmm just read through all the threads...right then small cars big engines power to weight and all that, even 400bhp nova,s. I did see an astra newish 98 i think go up the strip at shakespere raceway (long marston as i knew it as a lad) it had calibra red top turbo engine and a couple of mods he was pullin mid 12,s all day long i spoke to him and it was some guys up north who had tuned it. I thought nice car, not too many mods, quick motor.........but it aint a zed, the looks and prestige wiv a 300 is my attraction, its rapid and like others have said there are jap cars rolling off the production line that are fast out the box but they have no soul, as for a 400bhp nova

its a fookin nova!! i stopped pissin around with them in 1986!!

quality. true, true.

FunkySi, my mate got into some stock hatch racing thing for 205GTis a couple of years ago, and has been doing it ever since. He keeps blowing things up before he actually finishes though :/ It takes all his spare money, all his spare time is spent fixing the car, his garage and front garden are covered in donor cars... but he loves it, says it's a ton of fun ;)

Wow, you guys can get nasty when you want. I bet the guy that started this thread won't show his face for a while.

As for 400bhp Novas, what a waste of time. There is no way a Nova could find anywhere near enough traction to use that amount of power. Chav Power did a group test on a load of tuned Novas about 12 years ago and the fastest ones to 60 were N/A cars since the ones running 2.0 turbo lumps couldn't get off the line without serious ammounts of wheel spin.

hi guys im here lol have u finished? forgot to mention it did have a turbo sign on it and the guy said 1.6 turbo could have had more power. this was my first proper race on a straight road so i took up his offer.

LOL probably a turbo badge stolen from another car. Just in the same way as kids badge up their Astra Merits as GSis

What car was it exactly? 205? 106???

I wonder if anyone with an NA on here has a TT badge on?? Lol now that would make me chuckle.

Glad I saw this post as I would not usually post this. Lats night a Toyota Corolla GT tried it on so I though what the hell and booted the zed. Obviously I totally destroyed him, 1 mile gap between us. I slowed down as there was traffic ahead and could'nt be bothered anymore. I see this Corrolla in the mirror aproaching rapidly , he over took me and 3 other cars ahead on a blind bend. Bet he will tell all his mates later how he destroyed a Z.

Well said...a bag o' shite with a jacket is still a bag o' shite with a jacket, no mater what fookin colour the jacket is...

Thats my philosophical rant over.......

Though point not mentioned. If you only race similar powered cars i.e supra etc then the winner and looser would both be travelling at a stupid dangerous speed pretty quickly. You only have to hit 60 to waste most cars. So if you onyl race propper cars then i bet your hitting 140 before one of u backs out. tut tut

Racing on public roads is not good, but racing at 140 plus to make a point is even worse.
