...ok, so zeds have 'Micra Collette' sounding horns. Not had a good rummage around as of yet.

Is there space to instal a dual tone horn without having to extend the wiring or mount it somewhere impossible?

yes the standard horn has two horns already, so i simply mounted my new ones in the sam place, easier if you remove nose cone

It's 2tone? LOL, you'd be believed to think otherwise.

So, they are mounted just behind the bumper then? Just 2 small spade connections as per normal type horns?

It's 2tone?

I don't think so. Just 2 horns

yes mate, about the only hing on a zed. thats easy to do lol

Oh right, bit pointless. 2 horns make it sound no louder or more beefy! LOL

Thanks T-Pot, probably my 'first' mod! haha

There's a local boyracer shop and they sell the ones made by 'Ring' which are pretty good, had a set of those before for another car with a gay horn. Sound the job. :)

Sure was....well, at least on par with it. I had a Citroen ZX 2.0 16v many moons ago, decent car actually, but the horn was just terrible.

I've typed this before, but here goes...............

I've owned a few Ford Capris in my time, and the 2.8 Injection model came with dual tone horns as standard. These ones were very good indeed (especially for scaring school kids on bikes ;) ), and also have the same fixing as the standard Zed horns do.

Incidentley I have the same problem as you do, I beleive that only one of the horns is working.

My wife used to have one of those. It was pretty nippy and handled well, but it wasn't well made at all. We had all sorts of problems with the ECU and presumbaly because of that, the cats. I think the suspension/steering was dodgy too. Fairly typical French rubbish.

The horn really was very gay though. thghey2.gif

Hahaha lol

Yeah, quality was ok on mine....compared to other Citroens such as the AX and BX. I had electrical problems with mine. The connectors on those kept breaking down. So resulted in missfires appearing every other month. The central locking packed up, the brake lights packed up and also the reverse lights failed to work.

Other than that, it was quite good really.

:smash: How about a dukes of hazzard horn on the zed...be just as cool,,,,,

anyone bought Halfraud horns, red in colour, they any good??

they'r a bit dear though £30 or maybe i dont know the prices to well

ALL Halfrauds stuff is expensive. IE, I bought a new lower ball joint for one of my cars a few months ago (It was Sunday and I tore the seal on it whilst taking a strut out). So only option was to replace it. Now, I know these things for this particular car were about 6 or 7 quid from a motorfactors.

25pounds from Halfrauds....same make as well!!!!!!

Anyway, 'RING' dual tone horns from a good accessory shop are something like 15pounds.

Please excuse my lack of pound sign, I'm on a US laptop which doesn't have UK keys or UK keyboard extension....
