noisey camchain

hi peeps not been on for a while , due to someone reversing into my 300 in a car park about 3 months ago, since then its been parked up in garage getting the front end rebuilt, now when ive come to start it the cam chain is rattling, like the tensioner is stuck , but when i parked it up it was quiet , anyone out there any ideas as to why its noisey now, and any solutions that dont involve removing the front of engine and rad, :headvswal

yes think your right it is a belt , its still noisey any ideas on why ?

Id say its the tensioner buddy!

i thought it was , but why should it go noisey when its not gone anywhere, will it free its self off if i take it for a spin or will it make it worse.

It may be the tensioner, or it could be the hydraulic lifters. If it has been sat for a while they may have drained or seized. Take it for an easy run and see if it clears

I`d guess that the lifters have drained, mine does this when stood for some time. After a good run all is quiet again.
