You have the money for a new Z32 (and Nissan still make them), you walk into your local Nissan dealers, and there before you stands two almost identicle Z32's............................

The first one is a standard Twin Turbo, with the standard spec as of before.

The second one is identicle, except that instead of twin turbos, it has a Supercharger factory fitted.

Which would you prefer to own???

Never drove a supercharged car. From what I've read though; turbos are more efficient as they work off the exhaust instead of the engine crank. Superchargers don't have the lag as you are waiting for the turbos to spool up,but lag isn't really much of a problem with the Zed as it uses the two small turbos instead of one big one. Apparently the newer superchargers are a lot better than the old ones though.

So I guess that from my inexperienced angle I'd go for the turbochargers as they give more grunt and the lag is non-existant on my car anyway.

Twin Turbo.

For starters supercharges waste power, like air con but worse. The crank has to power a heavy blower.

There is no lag on a supercharger obviously, but turbos can push more air.

TT. As said above, only advantage of supercharger I see is no lag, but the standard zed has virtually non-existent lag anyway and is more efficient than the supercharger.

I'm not sure there Stu, As a turbo is a centrafugel compressor and a supercharger (usualy, but there are exceptions) are a positive displacement pump.

I'd go for a single supercharger- lower charge temps, much easier to maintain and less prone to failiure than two turbos, although the recon interval is shorter than that of a turbo. Ideally I'd have one with a clutch so that it can be switched on and off.

Supercharger every time. Much better power delivery and response. Modern screw ones are as good as turbos in terms of efficiency, obviously some losses from driving them, but more than made up for from a driveability point of view IMO.

Turbo's can't push more air. A centrifugal or screw charger can push just as much or more, it's the roots type that aren't very good at high revs.

I was going to save the unveiling of my next mod until the max power show, but since we're on the subject I'll give you guys a sneak preview.

You'll have to watch you dont suck in small kiddies when you drive past the local school!! Otherwise I cant see any problems in it!!

interesting posts....just for those wanting to know the (new) mods for the Z33 / 350z was split along the lines...supercharger and twin turbo both equal performance price etc...howeve some clever spark has come up with a large single tub which fits better and neater than the twin so not only out performs but is a doddle to fit...however the engine bay (lack of space) on the z32 make a large single tub a non runner....so twin wins...innit :D
