Is it just me or do other people think the Nissan stick is hard to read. Do you get an aftermarket unit ?? I've thought about machining it flat see if that would help anyone tried it??

i was l had troubles too it is hard to read but ryan showed me how, ,, as in the little tiny grid bits always check that side, if they show oil in the litlle tiny pockets then uptoo where there isnt , there isnt ,, i think lol

yer..its shat....No consistancy to the readings....

Kewl I'll check it out tomorrow but you must admit it's not brilliant it appears to lift oil from the stick tube as yer removing it. Thanks for the info

My thoughts too, I changed the oil in mine sat and couldn't make out the reading so I just put the whole container in 4ltrs. :)

Ok so it's not just me. Thats it mines on the grinder tomorrow morning. I'll just make a small flat on it staying well away from the cable and see if that helps.

Carefull you don't overfill mate, pressure will put it through the seals.

Once had a girl fill her mini engine up with oil think she put about 17 ltrs in it :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: Starter wouldn't even turn it over :) :) So she kept trying till she cooked the starter cables.

thats impressive she must have been chest deep in the stuff in the cabin even.

The huh was caus i didnt understand your sentence as for reading dipstick i have to leave my car for about 3 days to read it then All the oil has dropped and i dip about 10 times and i slide the stick in without rotating it and take rough guess

Hehehe.. Some people. I've seen Anti-freeze and Oil in the washer bottle "Not on the same car". Oil in the rad. Oil in the rad header tank. Couple a motor's so full of oil it was like the Exon-Valdis in there drive "Showing my age now" :) WHY CAN'T THESE PEOPLE LEAVE CARS ALONE!!!

My misses doesnt give a shit about checking any fluids she just moans when it overheats or doesnt squirt water and its got so bad i vowed iwould NEVER clean her car out caus she wont respect the thing but i had to... i couldnt actually dip the clutch peddle wiv all the crap on the floor. One of my mates crashed his car cause his cat was under the brake and he could push it or he'd hurt the cat. I'd a squished it :)

Spare a thought for us S13 owners - the dipstick tube is shaped like spaghetti junction, so by the time you've pulled the dipstick out it has wiped all the oil off :rolleyes:
