PTU threads are useful i might have a look at that..anyone got a diagram or image of where i need to look?

cheers

Was it all ok before the oil change? You're mentioning it like it's connected to the problem...? If you were changing the oil did you change the plugs too? What were they like.

Rather than opening up your PTU with a stanley knife and having a look inside, check there is ignition spark going to the plugs. Get a mate to turn the engine while you check for sparks on each individually. Don't forget to unplug the fuel plug relay or similar (consult 300ZX service manual here).

(No spark = no bang = engine turns endlessly!)

Most likely causes are PTU, plugs, sender units for plugs, CAS, wet leads. Depends on diags you've done. Any errors on ECU???

everything was ok before. I had started having a veru lumpy idle, once i cut out whilst in drive at the lights (before the oil change). did the oil change, switched on seemed to be fine went for a drive...came back after 30 mins, stopped went away, came back 2hrs later and no start just starter motor and lights...

ive recently had all the plugs changed as one had gone apparently, my bro in law changed them all...

dont know if this is any good but mine packed up at jae and found out it was the fuel pump..

just a thought to check?????

ok ive managed to start it after i found a loose (but not disconnected) connection to the throttle position sensor, and i also (like another post) knocked the PTU a bit and wiggled the connector to that...really had to give it some turning to start it but it started up finnally, took for a spin and then it was ok...not sure whether it will start tommorrow though
