Anyone ever Changed the colour of there Zed?

What did you have done ? eg: just outside of car, outside and all inner shut's and exposable under panels?

Thinking of Changing the colour of mine to a lighter brighter colour and i used to be a sprayer/mechanic so just want to know what other's have done or had done to their Zed so i can get some idea's for mine :)

wanna spray mine lol have a look at maxsunnys car nice blue marble effect looks cool, also try cj he has a lovely candy apple z stunning!!

you will find a piccy somewhere of the colour on a car.. very nice.. if your gonna respray find a colour you like search the net and see it on other cars.

 

i was lucky i was able to find the proper lamborghini paint codes includding the ppg codes for steve.

I went from slate grey to bayside blue. They did everything except the engine bay (that was going to be another £1k to take everything out and put back after apraying).

maybe but aint the one im having mine is the full title.. big difference in paint..

 

thats a basic orange pearl, its not even lambo paint!!!... no movment in the paint ,, nada.. flat and boring..

 

look at the colour on this murcielago.. thats the way mine is being painted...

 

this paint needs 5 different colours and the laquer to work..

 

 

also lambo orange (almost) colour used if it was real lambo paint would be this. Orange Arancio Ishtar 2CT *0057

 

however if it was the metallic it would be:Orange metallic Arancio Atlas Mic 2CT *0058

 

the only pearl anywhere near orange is: Pearl metallic yellow Giallo Orion Mic 2CT *0056

 

and that aint orange.

 

also if you goto avon customs where you got the picture from they dont even mention lambo orange used. also the original car they are trying to recreate can be found here and this has the basic lamborghini metallic orange with a flip pearl laquer.

 

however the genuine mix for the murcielago paint is as steve at bodywork plus put it!" bloody gorgeous" i personally think its fkn amazing.

It is more like that when is got light on it, was a dull day when we took that photo, I can't remember the full name of the paint, although it is a pearl so obviously has a change to it.

theres no lambo murcielago pearl..in orange lambo didnt make it, in yellow yes..

 

trust me it took me a lot of favours to get the paint code needed for this, lambo uk werent gonna give it up but i got it..

 

 

even on a dull day the real paint flips.. i was looking at some murcie's in the manchester and london dealerships and even under crap light that paint is fkn amazing.. i used to think the diablo orange was the business but the murcie's paint beats it hands down. the diablos orange is not that great..

Looking at it again I don't think it is the same colour, although there is no way you can say the Arianco pearl on the supra is flat, it just doesn't photograph well! :(

sorry mate but thats flatter than my ex girlfriends tits... you go and look at a real murcie with the standard orange or orange metallic paint.. big BIG difference

The mercialago is a different colour yes, have you seen the supra other than in pics?

Then you can't say it's flat, we apinted it so know exactly what the paint is like, and it's far from flat!

sorry mate but to me that colour is flat, hay i gotta change stuff on artwork everyday, and i make things look a million dollars for people. im just tellin you what i see there is no comparison in movement in that paint job compared to the murcie.

 

im not knocking the paint job i sure its very good but the pictures dont do it justice compared to the murcie which has been pictured in basic light also.

This may have been in plain light, but the camera had a hell of a flash and obviously professional!

 

 

Whereas this has no flash, maybe if we'd put the halogen light on it aswell it wouldn't look so flat, but it was just a quick, amateur photo. :)

Anyway, (Z)Master, if you're going to all the work of painting the car, ( I assume windows out everything stripped etc), I'd definately do door shuts, boot and bonnet returns.

Nissan Dark Blue Pearl (TH1) Dark and dull (the pearl help's to make it look a bit better).Im looking at coming out of blue completely maybe something alot brighter.....The original colour doe's not do the zed any justice..Not sure if im going for another pearl or just a plain colour yet! :cool:

Pearls and metalics are very hard to match-up at any light angle! they alway stand out when you have had to repair/replace body panel's :)

PK1 how much is it costing to get your Zed resprayed if you dont mind me asking??

well i have to wait for steve to send me the test swatches, and then i have to grab a few other things to be fitted, so at the moment i dont know but, it isnt going to be cheap, but then steve is damn amazing.. whith his paint..

 

from ferraris to jags to astons etc... he knows his paint.. im happy to let him do the work. and im a real fussy ba5tard

that paint is awesome and it will look fantastic flipping over the curves of the zed especialy the rear three quarter ..bet it cost a fekin fortune a litre
