ask chunk he booked ginsters for a special weekend

pies aint got nothing on a good burger, you obviously know nothing about junk food ;)

My diet is a mess, having been in catering for 15 years mostly as a chef I know more about what people should eat than the average bear. The flipside is having worked at more mealtimes than I have not in my working life I eat at the stupidest of hours

i was diagnosed with agressive reiters disease and sarcoidosis of the lungs 2 years ago,

thats basically a really nasty type of infective arthritis that lowered my immune system to 40% so when i get ill it kiks off, and the sarcoid is a lung disease, tiny little polyps grow in the aeola sacs and then burst into millions of fibres blocking them up.. been in and outta hospital more times than i can remember.

these days i eat a bit of everything. fruit, nuts, and loadsa crap. i cant excersise incase i collapse, i dont drink cos it will kill me (medication) and i never smoked..

in this day and age it doesnt matter how healthy you are, if you get ill you get ill...

i have seen young kids with no hair and tubes everywhere still smiling in hospital and i think to myself, how bad off am i?

yea im ill but then i can do things most people cant.

look after yourself and be careful..

I consider myself to be pretty healthy and fit for 40+. I cycle a 16 mile round trip to work every day and run a 6 mile circuit 3 times a week. Also going to do The Great North Run in September.

Don't smoke but drink too much beer and whisky and despite a healthy diet have a tendency to eat too much red meat and Indian food.

Live life for now not for the future - you don't know when your time'll be up.

I'm a lot better after having this removed from my back today

now in a bit of pain, a lot of discomfort, but should be better soon.

I only visit it on a Sunday

Loads o good food...no mac D's..Gym every day almost ...will still die b4 you..

Bit of a healthy specimen me. Did the dodgey stuff at college for a year or so and then went pretty much completely healthy the last ten years. A big bender every so often to let off some steam but only alcohol (not that I think its any different to any other drug mind).

Been heavily into surfing for 15yrs, martial arts 12yrs, lately been doing 3-4 mile swims in the ocean. Also spent a lot of time in the mountains through my job (marines). Did 25k a day for a month the year before last, ended with a 60km 24hr yomp all with 50lb plus on my back. Bit more chilled now as I'm leaving at the end of the year. Doing lots of courses so avoiding the partying even more at the moment.

Can notice the strain that the job has put on me over the years. I had a bad flu type illness in training which I didn't stop for. I didn't want to loose the momentum and fail training. It was a bad move as my lungs have never really recovered properly. Also my legs are buggered through stress injuries so I avoid road running now. Makes me appreciate my health and look after it.

My step mum has an illness where she could die at any time (and has had it for 15yrs now). She is always in pain and has now had more damage done by the pills she has to take than the actual disease. Yet she doesnt let it show. She has regular strokes and is back to normal a few days later. Awesome woman. Everyone should appreciate there health and make the most of life.

exactly the same as me

not very good diet

lack of sleep

to much work

no exercise

lots of stress

better diet+more sleep+more exercise+less work  =less stress

Well, as I've got severe Crohns disease (had it since I was 12 and notched up 10 major ops and one death, for just over 30 seconds, so far) bizarrely I have to try and eat as much "junk food" (i.e. high calorie) stuff as possible to try and gain weight...and you could still lose me behind a bean pole! ;)

Currently writing this, as usual, doped up to the eyeballs on controlled drugs...Hey, so I guess it isn't all bad! :D

Leigh.

Ive done both sides, used to be mad on the gym, havent been near one in 7 years. Gave up drink 12 yrs ago, but smoked since I was eight (30 yrs of Marlboro :)) I am almost completely carnivore, dont do salad or fruit (though the mrs keeps slipping rabbit food on my plate, only to find it in the bin later) love anything that can be called junk food KFC, curry, chinese, MCD's, Now a firm believer in the old adage that being healthy doesnt make you live longer, just makes it seem to be a long process :)

Amen to that! :D

:D Spondylosis, diverticulitis, smoke 40 a day, hardly ever have a pint, but do 2 bottles of vodka a week overweight overworked, overstressed, and still manage to do at least 5 miles a day................

  • 2 weeks later...

About two years ago I smoked, drunk loads and all the other bad stuff out there. Since I meet my girlfriend I no longer smoke (year and a half), only drink when im out with the boys and have knocked all the other stuff on the head. I now go kickboxing twice a week and aim to get down the gym three times a week, I feel so much better in my self and I think giving up smoking was one of the best things in my life. Its mad what a girl can do to you, but its all good.

Not done much exercise recently but my diet is good.

My old man is a professor of gasterenterology (eeh, hark at me) and says five portions of fresh fruit and veg a day (potatoes don't count) is totaly the way forward. To do anything else is to court hideous disease and death.

Obviously exercise in moderation, moderate drinking only (yeah, right!) and not smoking are good too. But the five portions of fruit and veg a day is the key thing.

fvck me after reading this lot i feel fantastic now,and wtf was that manatoo thingy in the class tube thought my browser had re-directed me to rotten.com
