why is there a 3" plastic insert in the inlet of the fuel filter??

surly this will restrict flow and decrease performance... i have left it out when i replaced my filter should i put it back in?

my local garage found that in mine to when they were setting the fuel pressure , they removed it all seems o.k.

i took mine out too

so nobody has had any problems with it removed phew i thought it was important or something! cheers guys:D

I found one in mine too, took it out and now it sits on my pc, works fine without it.

I remember JeffTT going on about this sometime in the past - try a search. Maybe that was just about the problems of putting it in the wrong way round.

took mine out about a year ago, must reduce the flow rate
