Just got a puncture in my 3000 mile old Goodyear F1s.

It's near the centre of the tyre, a very sharp shard of metal has gone through.

Easy fix for a tyre place? Hope so, don't fancy 100 squid outlay for a new one.

In any other car i would say fix it, but as its on a Zed i wouldn't even think about having it fixed :nono: would just go for a new one fella cos you wouldn't want it to fail at high speeds :nono:

Just IMHO that is :D

Sgt I can totally see your point but I this month have spent so much on my Z and I think sometimes youve got to draw the line on the wonga.. Ive had patches done before and Put that tyre on the rear cant see it not outlasting the tyre itself..

Just always remember youve got a patch on the tyre

chris ;)

Garages do repair punctures as long as its not on the side wall.

The choice is yours m8 (ovbiously ;) )

Its not in a bad place, you can get a vulcanised repair done,

but if you can afford a replacement , you get the peace of mind at high speed !

pay your money & take your chance,

Good luck Martin

Descisions decisions! I think I'll take in into my local tyre place so they can have a good look. Obviously 10 quid is better than 100, but it's not worth putting the family at risk.

mate its not that extreme! ;)

doubt your actually going to put anyone at risk just wouldnt use it for a track day

If the piece of metal is less than 8mm, they can do a "plug" repair, though alot of tyre dealers will give you nonsence about not being able to repair a "Z" or "W" rated tyre, for obvious reasons!!!

Just walk away if they do, someone will repair it for you.

Kin ell, whats the world coming to...........

I agree with Sarge :D

I personally would rather pay the price for a new tyre than pay the price for a blowout (at whatever speed)

HTH

As long as it is in the middle two-thirds, which it is, and the hole is less than 6mm they will fix it. They will advise you about speed but that is just to cover themselves from any future liability.

agree with chunk sarge etc

not worth lives over a few $$

But when you are talking the difference of £4 for a repair and £90 for a tyre its a different matter.

Why not ask the advice of the people who know best? The tyre place!

Dont know about you, but my life is worth more than £90 to me. I would not even consider a repair.
