Again i have just got off the fone and Rob is going to look into this because he is telling me emphatically there is no problem with insuring zeds as it has been, so thats straight out the horses mouth as to say

i believe you....i've been covered with them since June this year...maybe its just a comm's breakdown between the sales force and the underwriters

sorry, apparently their underwriter will be cracking down at the beginning of the year on J-spec imports with a price hike or no insruance policies. And they would be enforcing the having a second car and the zed garaged, also you have to be over 30 years old to get insured (up from the 21 when they first joined the forum)

thats what I was told when I tried to get a quote, anyway they didn't renew as traders on the forum, I'm not telling anyone not to try them, just passing on what I was told by one of the staff. I never manged to ever get through to rob,

Its exactly what I was told as well (see my post on this thread made in June: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=51427) and I informed Ian as traders liason officer that their policy would be changing for the worse. Them not renewing their subscription says a lot. I couldn't get through to Rob either!

Yes as mike has stated they are only insuring people 30 and over and it will be classic insurance, they will however try to accommodate as many people around the age bracket ie. just under. As for the car having to be garaged this is linked directly to postcode... if you live in the middle of London has to be garaged, if you live in more rural? ie. Cheltenham it does not have to be garaged necessarly. They are stipulating it be a second car to get cheaper policies but i will explain why in a moment. I have been told by Ken at Houghtons that they are looking for other underwriters to insure younger drivers of zeds and drivers who have the zed as a main car. This eventuallity has been born out of a hefty claim from a member and i wont say any more about this (its none of my business.) I do however feel annoyed that once again insurance companies choose when they will insure people based on this claim.

They are picking and choosing to suit when a large claim comes up its oh sorry we,ve lost a small portion of our profits so we,ll cut and run. Anyway you know what i mean.
