A couple of months ago i noticed an oil leek at right hand, top corner, of engine, and didnt think to much of it. In the last week i have noticed some blue smoke coming from the exhaust on start up, it goes away once you move of. From doing a search on the forum i assume that i have a faulty Pressure Control Valve.

If anyone of you knowledgeable guys or girls could confirm my conclusion i would be greatful.

Cheers

David

could be a blocked pcv valve/s fairly common on the 300zx

heres a link on how to change http://www.ttzd.com/tech/pcvtech.html

You can check if the valves are blocked by pulling the pipe off when the car is idling and putting your finger over the valve end, you should feel a bit of a vacuum sucking on your finger. If its blocked you wont feel it. The springs usually go on them too. So if the valves havn't been replaced they probably will need it.

Cheers monaghan, am i right in thinking that if its blocked it may cause an oil leek?

YEP quite possibly, they normally get blocked in the closed position, then cause build up in the ventilation systym creating more pressure, better doing it sooner than later otherwise seals can go aswell :(
