my car is really smokey at the min think it may be the oil.

 

i'm running 10-40 i believe is this correct?

Try replacing the PVC pipes and valves, MJP in the traders area can get them for you.

ok thanks, my mechanic said that it could be my turbos or rings or something in the engine, if this is the case as a short term solution i have been advised to put thicker oil in.

 

is this true? if it is what should i use?

As a short term approach I'd suggest replacing the PCV's - it's easy and won't take much longer than changing the oil.

agree with andy. whens it smoking? all the time/when accelerating/on overrun, hot/cold?
