electrical switch question

may have asked before but cant remember

I have a push button switch in my steering wheel which is hidden under the grips very smart only problem being it only has little wires coming out the back theres no way of getting to the switch

so I presume if I wired the starter wires to it they would porbably melt

is there any way around this

ie little wires into relay then relay into big starter wires?

thanks

chris :D

Is it made as a starter button? If so I cant see any probs in wiring it straight in?

Or you could just jam your teeth into the ignition barrel every time you want it to start and keep gnawing away untill something happens?? Belive me, people will be much more impressed with this method for staring a car, the looks i used to get :D

it is a starter switch but designed for horns and the like but thats boring

depends how many amps the switch is rated at. the solenoid feed wont draw too much currant, if your at all woried then a 4 pin relay is easy to wire in :)

 so its not a starter switch its a horn button???

I'd buy a propper starter button mate, most likely be less mucking about and easyer to sort properly.

sorry what I mean is they are push button switches...

so just a 4 pin relay then?

thanks

you cant use a horn push for a starter.

my other car has push button ignition, and start, and trust me the wires take a lot of amps mate.

it would burn out first start.

no I know but can oyu with a inline relay?

chris :D

I really doubt it, mine has a series of relay's in place, and the cable still runs a higher amp than you would be able to run for a horn mate.

imho, its not a goer

ok cheers

LOL! a relay is fine!, the switched side of the relay draws about 0.1a!!
