How important are those pink/red gaskets that sit on the top shock mountings ?

Car currently on jacks while I fit my new suspensions, and discovered the original gaskets are all torn and now useless.

What are they for, do I need to replace then, are they generic enough that nissan dealer would stock ?

Thanks,

David
