HelP! Last night car was fine - this morning as the car warmed up (on motorway) car suddenly filled with steam and water was pouring on to my left foot throught the plastic air ducting!! Does this point to the heater matrix?

There was no visible leak/steam/water onder bonnet!

Front and rear heater hoses were recently replaced.

.. or shall I bypass the matrix by joining the inlet/outlet for now and swap out the matrix as and when - what do you think?

Mmmmmmmmmm I convinced myself (with your help) that I had two options today - RadSeal - and if that didan't work - the bypass solution - as in buy time until the Heater matrix/core could be changed out - fully expecting to resort to the latter!

BINGO - what do you know the old £3.99 radseal from Halfrauds has only gone and fixed it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will wait until the car is completely cold again (tomorrow morning) [to be convinced] but at the mo - it looks fixed!

Just thought I would share that...

Thanks to all who helped.

yep, I remember JeffTT (I'm sure it was him) posting some pics of how Radweld blocks up things it shouldn't. No way would I have stuck that stuff in. I hope everything works out OK.

I will let you know...

It's a short term fix till the weekend when I will do the matrix bypass - then I can await a replacement matrix and fit at my leisure. And do a complete flush/refill (again).

It's not the final solution!
