Damn... that my first reaction.... But, happy that from the announced 17 cars, 4 came finally, and, only ONE english from these 4. In total we ended only 7,

1 german car

3 holland car

1 belgian car

1 english car

THe forum user here who was there, "Topless" and another nice guy, will better tell you what happened, but it's really annoying: 'loosing' guys on the highway, forgetting passport, missing ferry, taking wrong directions....never saw that before

Oh, arrival would have been around 15:00 in namur....... real arrival was 20:15!!!

But a GREAT thnx to THOSE who came, very kind, and nice to have met them, and really a shame for those who missed or what ever, wordless.

cheers,

Blacky

ps: Pics will follow later on

I suppose I'm a bit to blame here.

As Peter drove at the front and trying to keep the pace up at 75+ mph (we had lost quite some time and had to make it up in some way to get in Namur/campingsite on time),

I tried to stay as much at the back of the group trying to act as some sort of "shepherd".

But once we got into a traffic jam I lost sight of most of the cars that were last in the group (Chris, Greg and a black Z) and the only car left was the car with Mark (topless) and Rich (chunk) in it.

I wasn't aware of Chris' cooling problems and I certainly would have tried to stay with him more if I knew.

After we got out of the traffic jam we drove slowly for some time, hoping Chris, Greg and the other Zed to catch up, but unfortunatley they didn't.

We went to the meeting point were Blacky was waiting for us and at that time Mark tried to get in contact with Chris to no avail.

After we waited for another 30 minutes we then went to Namur for the photoshoot and there Mark tried to reach Chris again several times (again to no avail.)

We had no idea of what had happened and neither did we, at that moment, have a way to get in contact with Chris or the others to find out about their location/situation.

Anyway...after all, to make a long story short, I understand that Chris' radiator was fixed/replaced and I still hope that everyone had a good time, besides all the trouble and annoyances.

Maybe next time we need to plan a schedule that is less tight and find some way to be able to communicate better during the trip to avoid these kind of problems.

As has been said before, most of the UK mobiles didn't work in Europe or only in one way.

(I had Mark's phonenumber and I was able to call him but not the other way around.)

Oh Yes I almost forgot

Would anyone be up for a September meet/ Weekend thing.

I mean maybe Friday night Hamsterdam, Saturday meet and Sunday Nuremburg Ring???

sure, when ? :D

That grey SWB Strosek is stunning - sooo smooth! One of the best Zs I've seen - simple, clean and awesome - that's how it should be done IMHO.

Oh, and I'm always up for Amsterdam - been once already this year and going again near the end of September - about £50 return on Easyjet but driving could be good. :nana2:

Should I e-mail him and offer him £500 plus my standard wheels for his alloys?

Right here is my side of what went on……………..

i guess the one who brake down was the one who forgot hsi passport first (delaying everybud'), then in add on took a wrong road...

Yes I fuked up and forgot my passport, I hold my hands upto that, but when you have FILLED the back of a 2+2 rear seats included with equipment to drive across Europe for 4 days, then forgetting something as small as a Passport is easily done.

Wrong road ??? WTF are you on about you tool ??? we were 30 seconds away from the port, we get off the ferry after trying to get in touch with everyone on the 1st boat to find out their phones don’t work , so we took the 1st junction off the road and waitied at a big car dealership, how is this delaying everyone ffs.

Also I heard that when he slowed down to stop, he didn't made any signs but just thumbs up to the front guys who can continue their trip.

That’s because everyone was that fookin far away that no one could see me, Legrath and I went upto 120MPH to try and catch up then my rad popped, I was flashing had hazards on and was waveing my hands out of the roof, what more do you want me to do ??? give smoke signals ?????

I'm at least one hour in advance if I need to take a plane or anything else which needs punctuality

So me leaving at 4am UK time was not good enough for you ???????

SOME things and behaviors are simply unacceptable

Yes your attitude

In namur I met TopLess and 'chunk', is it right? Very nice people, and I'm also sorry for them on what happened cause they had to wait too, not to mention what meanmachine had to wait. They did a very long trip over to here, and thanks to them again for their coming (same for the holland people of course!!!!!!!) Also TopLess appologized their lateness, there was nothing to appologise, it wasn't their fault!

So come on apart from the Passport problem why was the rest my fault ???

Blacky do not reply to any of my post above I’m not fookin interested in a single word you have to say & if we meet again just stay away from me, end of !!!!

I’d just like to thank soooooooo many people for the help that they gave me over the weekend.

In no set order

Danny (meanmachine)

Danny what can I say ??? you are a true Gent what you did for me is something I’ll remember for the rest of my life and a thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Brian & Tom

As above you came and collected me from Mons and took me back to Brians house to rip his own rad out of his ultra sweet SWB TT’d NA, again it is something I’ll never forget.

Greg/David/Chris/Andy

Thanks so much for turning back round and finding me on the Motorway, without you guys I’d have been well and truly done for, I owe you big style.

Macca

As always Macca never lets people down when in need, a load of phone calls to Danny & always looking out for members interests.

Lymon

I’d like to thank you so much for letting me borrow your rad, I’ll being it to JAE as agreed.

Belgium Dude

Although this guy spoke hardly any English he went out of his way to try help us repair my own rad, bought some PVC paste to do a temp repair on the rad and provided us with water and soap to wash up, proves that not every single French person has a chip on their shoulder (although there aint many like him)

To sum up

Even after all that happened it was an awesome trip from Saturday 4pm onwards we HAVE to do something like this again real soon ;) Yes there were lessons to be learned & I’ve learned a lot this weekend, I’ve found out that apart from the odd 1 ahem Blacky :xxx: we have one of if not the best car communities in the world. The commaradery of the Z32 owners is second to non other in any form of motor vehicles.

So when’s the next trip :D

So when’s the next trip :D

Dunno. But you can count me in! I was all booked up for this with the ferry from Rosyth but had to cancel as my car aint ready yet. :(

Yeah its a 1991 i think and only done 22000 miles with a retrim to perfection inside by Strosek.

I think all of us agreed its the most awesome sounding Z we've ever heard.

It really does have to be heard to be believed!

It's an N/A with Strosek exhaust and can be heard nearly half a mile away LOL

Not just loud but so tuneful too.

I've got a load of video of us on the road i'll try to post up somewhere.

My view on the situation is that shit happens , and it did happen

Al it must be said that most of it was du to a lack of communication , i'll

take part of the blame of that as really i was the only one that actually know

how we we're going , and i was riding shotgun with peter.Point is and something most of you don't know that before you guy's we're coming over normally i would have come a week before to the uk and would have a meet

up with chunk to go over the details of the tripp , due to things that happend

i didn't come over en didn't see richard. So nowbody of the uk guy's or the ducth knew the details and the route that we were going , so it is my fault aswell .Otherwise a lot of what went wrong would never have happend.I was a bit pissed of about the delay but this had most to do with the fact that normaly Eric malfroy and his beautifull strosek zx would have joind us along the way and we missed out on him ( he doesn't come out that much with his car so this would have been the perfect oppurtunity ) But he there will be other times. Du to the delay we had we actually drove off out of calais to go

to Namur whitout even having a small check up on the road map or seeing that we could stay in contact with eachother , and this is we're we went wrong. Otherwise i say again this would never had happend. To give you an example when chris was in trouble and this was already a day later he had to phone Ian - ian phoned peter at pps - peter send me an sms - i contacted Ian

and this is how i came to know the trouble he was in. As for someone pointing

fingers that some people buggered off and leaving chris in the cold i can tell

this is totaly not true :slap: and i can vouch for all the guy's that we're with us if we knew we would have directly turned round and help'd him out but we

simpely DIDN'T KNOW . We dond't leave fellow z drivers stranded.

As for the thanks you guy's gave me i can only say thanks back to you guy's

altho i must sat that the real hero who saved the day was ERIC LYMON who had the rad and suplied it , And don't forget the guy who was garding the fortress in the UK and knew how to salve the problem our dear friend MAC1

i was only playing taxi.

Conclusion is that instead of trowing mud to each other we should stick our heads together ,so if we gonna do this again in the future these fault's cant happen again.

Al and al i hope you guy's had a good time overhere and don't think to bad over my lidl old country.

Danny.

And don't forget the guy who was garding the fortress in the UK and knew how to salve the problem our dear friend MAC1

LOL Now thats what you call international rescue ;) We all played a big part in getting Chris back home and the rescue was much better planned than the trip LMAO  ;) Hope everyone has learned from the mistakes and we can all move on from here.

it was a great oportunatity to meet you all and really enjoyed it :)
