Bought a strosek rear light panel from a bloke on ebay over a month ago and never received it. So I put in a buyer complaint as I didn't get any reply to my emails and now the user is not registered anymore I can't get his details.

The day before the buyer complaint was about to be rewarded to me I get a phone call from said bloke who swears blind he will post it on Monday, so I withdrew the complaint. I still have not received the item or any contact and now that I have closed the case I cannot even get my money back !

Maybe someone on here knows who he is as he spoke about the club quite a bit and he has a swb twin turbo and goes to meets etc, it is quite done up by the way he was speaking. I think his name is Mark, he said he would probably see me at a meet sometime but trust me mate if you are reading this you don't want to bump into me :nono:

His ebay username is : lookatmyothgear and the email address is : heartcare@hotmail.com

eBay reminds me of Moss Eisley space port from Star Wars "Moss Eisley space port...nowhere in the entire galaxy will you find a more dangerous hive of scum and villainy, we must be cautious!!!"

Feel free to correct me if my quote is slightly out but I think it's fairly accurate.

Don't get me started about good old CHAV bay! I was turned over just short of £700 and because this tosser lives 250 miles away he thinks he has got away with it! :nono:

my whole income comes from ebay, And I am pissed of with people like this because it ruins it for the rest of us.... you can say be cautious etc but its only a fecking light panel and he probably had a few good feedback

so how you supposed to win

theres so many out there who are desperate to make 50 quid ripping someone off I feel for the thick *******s..

afterall if your going to do a con at least do a good one for millions

Yeah fair comment, the few dealings I've had with eBay beit buying or selling have been fine...but...I do feel sorry for people who get shat on!

thats nice of ya ;)

thats nice of ya ;)

Yeah you eBay t055er!!!

As soon as you buy anything off Ebay ask for sellers address straight away even if there are no probs then if they do sting you, you and a base ball bat can pay them a visit.

Sounds like you're experience was similar to mine, my seller didn't respond to emails then when I initiated the complaint I got all this apologetic crap about how their computer had been hacked etc. I then stopped the complaint cos I'm a nice guy. After stopping the complaint I heard nothing and of course once you've stopped a complaint, it can't be started again. The seller stopped responding again and then stopped being a registered user of ebay so I was completely screwed.

I then hit upon the idea of looking up their ebay history and emailing every single person they'd dealt with explaining the situation how I'd been ripped off by them, one of these emails was successful and I now have their home address.

Never had a problem on ebay myself, but i do investigate each seller before i commit to buy anything, i.e check feedback, check items sold in feedback etc. ive bought from japan, usa, canada and the uk and all items were delivered. always pay by paypal so i can claim back if needed.

Yeah, thanks guys, for the support, I will find this bloke I promise, Coldeyes that is a brill idea I will get e-mailing his previous mugs, see if I can find an address.

As for the baseball bat, he will be getting a whole lot more than that from me as I have had it with people doing the dirty on me ! :nono:

He said his name was Mark.

The worst thing is he seemed to be very genuine and said he knew Mac and a few of the others on the board, spurted out about his gorgeous SWB which he said was pushing 480 bhp and goes to quite a few meets, not a nice way to treat a fellow Zedder or board member :nono:

Anyone else got any bright ideas what I can do ?

All help very much appreciated,

Olly.

never had a problem with paypal yet. Had an issue with a scum of a neighbour nicking my cc when they were round for a party, lucky we got the money back and they have now ****ed off.

well there is this https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp

but its not free it costs money to chase money...so if you havent got a warchest best off writing it off...however once you have a claim you can escalate to.... bailiffs (clamping cars), attachment of earnings, third party money orders (raiding bank accounts basically), depends how much you know about the guy to be really effective

did you pay by credit vard? if so, get them involved. They will refund you and chase it with Ebay/Paypal.

Me too as if I am going to pay some twat £700 with negative feedback.

This **** had 100% +

i'm not even sure if negative holds any fear for people like this people will still trade with them...paypal are nothing more than a clearing house...so same thing applies with a normal bank...you get paid with a dodgy check or CC and its pulled by your bank then its your problem unless your insured or covered...paypal do set out to give the impression its covered but i think when push comes to shove you're on your own personally i would insist on cash direct to an account if you let folks pay with credit your running a risk with this system...the large high street stores factor in CC fraud and risk when pricing...a small bizz doesnt have the economey of scale but the card option is sold to them as if it was a perfect small bizz solution even more so with the rise an rise of ebay....lets face it if your a crook with a stolen card your gonna use ebay any day over being chased by security in Lakeside or Metro etc

I came a cropper on ebay to the tune of over £1000. Credit card company stepped in and full refund given. Next trip to the States might be fun.

Just had a massive row with paypal, because I closed the case they cannot re-open it.

I said to them that I can now do exactly what this guy has done and walk away with £10,000 and she said if thats what you want to do go ahead, in other words they don't care about helping they just want your money !

Well IMHO Ebay has got far too big for its boots, they can't and won't protect you from people out there that want take your eyes out!

Too many people are getting ripped off and Ebay must take a long hard look at ways it can refund people that get ****ed over after they use their service.

best form of corporate revenge

get your hands on any paypal or ebay freepost envelopes and mail them some really heavy junk like rusty cast iron blocks...all that excess post should raise a smile or 2

or buy 1 share visit the corporate HQ with your best incontinent old Granny ask to see the directors contracts...sit in the best seat in the boardroom read the contracts as is your right and let nature do its course....:D

Now your talking Twinpier I like the iron blocks 1 lol I might even try that the bunch of to55ers !

Just been on to the bank and at first, because I had paid by direct debit, the best way to pay paypal (according to paypal), they said I couldn't get it back. So I got put through to direct debits and they have done a direct debit indemnity and I will have the money back in the account 24 - 48 hours time, result :hyper: But I am still gonna find this guy !

A lesson for all I think. If u do use paypal pay by credit card and not direct debit, never cancel a paypal resolution case until you have actually got a refund in your hand or the goods and get the sellers info as soon as youv'e won the item (cheers speedemon !).
