to anyone whos fitted aftermarket front pads ie ebc etc did.

 

what shims etc did you put back in with the pads

 

ie just the metal plate supplied by ebc like I have or did you put the nissan grill in aswell.

 

 

only my brakes are rubbing all the time on the front

 

and Im trying to get to the bottom of it

 

even took all apart and cleaned turned disc 180' still no difference

 

EBC said the brake obviously makes noise when braking as the discs are grooved vented etc

 

but you shouldnt hear anything when driving

 

noise is from both sides

 

cant believe BOTH my front callipers are knacked

 

only other thing is I know my master cylinder needs a new piston might this be causing anything

 

ie stopping the pressure from returning the callipers properly

I have EBC black stuff from Jeff in Zworld. When I've changed the pads, I put that Nissan grill in as well. No Probs with noise and much better stopping distance compare to original brakes. The only thing is that the brakes overheat quicker because the braking efficiency has emproved! Oh well.. Will upgrade to Skyline disks and calipers when can afford.

so you put the grill (shim) and the ebc plate in aswell

 

so ie two pieces per pad

Yep, also a bit of copper grease and it works fine :dance:

thed bloke at EBC said no no no to copper grease...

although Ive never had any problem before with it

I fitted the grooved and blind drilled disks with kevlar pads, i have a constant noise from both brakes. I think the noise is due to the air being trapped/passing through the groove as the disk turns.

Yeh that sounds about right, though its always hard describing these noises. It is a constant noise though, to me its like a vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv!!

got the very same thing, fitted ebc discs and kevlar pads 3 months ago.

little irritating noise from time to time, but far more efficient brakes.

a good smear of copper grease on the shim where the piston marks are left is fine also soak calliper pistons in wd-40 or similar and move in and out to free them up very common to seize or stick

I can't wait for my EBC shitters to wear down ... fitted fine though, just totally shit. I wouldn't recommend them to noddy.

 

Get some nice Porterfield pads from Paul ...
