One thing I'm considering is having the Z delocked and the handles removed and getting it to pop open on reote fob. Anyone any ideas on who will do it and what it might cost?

Be carefull incase the battery goes flat? leave your lights on by mistake and you'll be walking home?

I have thought about doing this myself (although a button activating solonoids)

but to tell you the truth I could'nt be arsed....... :o

So I have just filled the keyholes in with bodyfiller.

No help at-all

Apolgogies :wack:

pm friday on this one. he's done it on his looks vgood. as for the flat battery you just hide battery lead somewhere so you can connect a powerpack or jump leads.

Yep done mine few months ago, works well too.

Just bought a kit of ebay and had an auto elec guy fit it for me, buttons fitted under mirrors and steps taken incase of flat battery either in remote or car.

How much did it all cost? The cost is the big factor, if it sounds reasonable i'll budget for it otherwise i'll do something else.

have all you guys done away with the boot keyhole?

If I get any problems hopefully I can just climb through the boot. (I think??)

or am I missing something ovbious?

Mine is booked in for this in a week or so at DS Engineering in Dartford. £130 for a 35lb kit and £100 per door to fit (+vat). They cut out door handle, weld a plate and fill/smooth over. Let me know if you want their details. They gave me confidence when I spoke to them about this.....makes a change!

Alot of people have said to me about getting locked out if battery goes flat but as you said - can always climb in through the boot.

Have you got a remote/locking alarm fitted mate,as I'm using mine to operate the catch instead of the lock............

Yampie thats a good price James has got, the kit can be bought for around 150 quid on ebay and some are cheaper, fitting is around 3/4 of a day.

James PM me for an easy way to get in car if you decide not to use the boot in case of battery failure and i'll let yer know what am doing.

cheers

Sorting out an emergency charging point is fairly straightforward for those, like me, who wouldn't be happy unless they go the whole hog and take off the boot lock as well (I managed it and I'm cr@p at electrics! :D) See my Journal for pics, it's the last entry.
