Torque Wrench Settings

OK it's not a Zed, but I'm just replacing the exhaust manifold gasket on my Rover 820 and Haynes suggest a 45nm setting for the nuts and bolts to do it up.

 

Does this sound right to anyone? That's barely on!

    I did a wheel bearing on a corsa and that said the hub nut was to be on 225ft/lb or something.

    Presumably it has a squishy gasket underneath. Better than shearing off the studs anyway !

    OK, cheers for that. I suppose I don't want to squeeze the life out of the gasket, so it makes sense really.
