Whats the most bhp that anybody has heard out of a N/A as i am sure that if properly done up it can have just as much power as a stock TT but without the lagg. ;) I thought i had seen a thread saying Danny at DTA is in the process of modifying a N/A to push out a lot of bhp, and then will be selling the stuff to do it. Correct me if i am wrong. :o

You could sell one of your kidneys and buy a stroker kit to give you 3.2L, and some fancy cylinder linings and cryo treating would give you a couple more bhp (expensive I know). How about a 4.5L V8 engine conversion?, the one that 'friday' guy is doing sounds pretty good, I think someone called John is doing one too.

I think that we must all have something that another member would like to do with thier ZED. Be it blue dash bulbs to great big spoilers TT or N/A. Whatever the aspiration of your car or level of customisation as already said they are a lovely car and if we all had the same we would have Mondeo's.

You could put a jet engine in it and get 8 second 1/4 's.

the whole point of making your ZED go faster is to use what you got and improve on that.

Of course it is. The basic car hasn't changed, it's just got a different engine.

I wanted lagless NA power but more than my current TT motor, so the VG30 wasn't really an option. Granted you can get ~140bhp/l from a fully race prepped 4 valve engine but you wouldn't want to drive it on the road regularly.

Just because it's a different route to normal doesn't mean it's wrong. It'll still work out cheaper than a big turbo conversion anyway by the time you factor in injectors, intercoolers, manifolds, internals, turbos boost controller etc.

some slight modification to the bonnet and an eaton M90 blower should do the trick :D

Heres how I see it the thread is about getting more BHP out of the Nissan Engine. Replacing it with another more powerful V8 (non Nissan) is not getting more out of the engine its getting more out of another engine. So putting better components is improving what you got.

I think the V8 is a good idea if it gives you more power but in effect its cheating? running a stock engine with custom parts added to increase power isnt cheating. Cheating ???? There is no such thing when it comes to cars. To cheat means to Mislead or decieve..and changing an engine over for a different one you prefer isnt doing either. Its not a competition on who can do their standard car up the most ,Its about your own preference and doing whatever you like to make yourself happy. Simple as that.

The whole point of this thread is to find out how far you could go with a N/A. so putting a V8 in is not increasing the BHP is it? It's changing the fookin engine. I am sure that a V8 will make the car go faster. but it wont make the V6 any more powerful will it?
