Bridgestone SO2's were best tyre I've ever had, now have goodyear F1's - excellent in the wet but steering seems slightly more vague in the dry, maybe cos they only have one solid centre band of rubber so the deep treads 'give' a little. Prefer Bridgestones in the dry.

I usually go for Pirelli's but currently have Michellin fronts and Toyo rears. 18"

I've got continental sportcontact 2's

Seem ok to me, but then I've only done about 15miles since i've had the car!!!!!!!!!

You have missed off two great brands that won't break the bank but have it where it counts on performance.

Falken and Fulda!

I had Falkens on my MR2 turbo and they were superb.

I have Fuldas on my Zed at the mo and they cost me £112 each for 265/35/18. Excellent grip and wear rate too.

Give em a look;)

Justin.

errr, nankangs :slap:

came with the wheels, gonna get some yoko's on there when they wear out but their lasting really well! interesting in the wet but apart from that quite impressed with em.

apparently they are the budget brand made by yokohama?

Goodyear F1's all round, but will try TOYO's next i think.

Mowgs, w4nkangs on spinners that were £2k+????.........oh dear, oh deary me :slap:

Kuhmos all round for me (came with the wheels). Have a pair of F1s in the garage waiting to go on the back when they wear down...

tell me about it, had words with the company when i bought em, dont expect to pay that sort of money for nankangs. what with that, and i had ordered a hi-spec 6-pot 330mm upgrade at the same time. after spending days on the phone listening to both companies bickering to each other i told em both to fack off, took my wheels and a refund for the brakes.

imho both companies let themselves down by being extremely unproffessional in their approach.

to summarise - ultimate velocity and hi-spec are w4nkers

sorry rant over, i have nankangs which were surprisingly better than expected unless its wet, and want to go for yoko's!!!!

Ultimate Velocity in Leicester???????

If yep, say no more!! Bunch of bellends IMHO!!

uv met them then!

love the wheels to bits, just wish id bought them somewhere else!

The tread pattern on the Nankang's isn't too terrible. I think they are good value for money. We are all tyre snobs!

I have Goodyear Eagle F1'S on the rear and Toyo's on the front. They are v similar as it happens.

I don't seem to understand how on this earth you can possibly leave F1's out of this poll.. are you strange or summat?

I've got Falken FP451, 265/35/18 on rear they cost about £130 they seem quite good on the road although I do wonder if they attract punctures from debris. I've had one blow out and two punctures in about 6 months, more I think about them the less I think I will use them again when all four need replacing.

and worn looking at them :slap:

I use NEXONS for the rear......

Very grippy...even in the wet,

BUT

Wear out really quick...not exactly that much tread on them to begin with either

Lasted about 5,000 miles so far...nearly dead already

Prehaps its just me :D

Marshall on the front and are the copies of the F1 tread pattern.

Good in wet and dry...decent tread depth...lasting very well :hyper:

i,ve just got a full set of Pirelli PZero,s off a guy at work , only done about 1k for £110

Not on a Z but it depends on what I'm doing. Wet or dry, track or road use. Four sets of tyres and only two sets of wheels. :( :(

However, This is what happns when you get a blow out at 120mph:

I've Used to do a lot of milage in the old Zedster so I've tried a few different tyres

Had Avon Z1's on when I bought her 1999. Brill in dry frightening in the wet.

Next came first set of Bridgestone SO2's. Changerd the character of the car completely. Better in the dry and almost as good in the wet as in the dry. Best tyre I've ever had on the car.

Then on someone's recomendation who insisted they were better than Bridgestones, I tryed Dunlops. Worse tyre ever had on car. After 2 weeks I got them changed back to Bridgestone SO2's

Next time I couldn't get Bridgestone from our tyre supplier and tried Yokohoma's.

I have to say that these are possibly the best tyres I ever had on the car in dry weather conditions, but very twitchy in the rain. So back to Bridgestone

Then came Michelin pilots which were ok, but noisier a vaguer feel and not as confidence inspirering as the SO2's

Then I tryed SO3's as SO2's getting harder to obtain. These are a good tyre and may even have a very slight edge on SO2 in the dry, but not as good as SO2 in the wet. Yet I think better than any others I've tryed in the rain.

Then got a set of wheels with Ventura Sport K104 S on them and contra to opinion on the board I thought these almost as good as the Michelins though they are a bit noisy.

Pritty good all round thought I didn't do many miles on em. I did drive in sun wind and rain.

Not tried any other makes on Zed thought I've tried them on other performance cars I've had. I really do think Bridgestone SO2's are the best tryer you canput on the Zed.

ooops I clicked some dodgy tyre instead of Bridgestone. So it should be equal best choice so far.
