NZR. dodgey VIN numbers

Do any of you know where i can check a VIN number online, i've just had a car checked buy plod and they told me that it could be stolen. But they are not sure! As it does have the original VIN number.

They said it is on the interpol stolen register. But it is actualy stolen recovered in Japan. Plod have told me i can't drive it or sell it until further notice.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks Andy. I've sent all the details, see what they can come up with.

Bit of a bummer though don't you think. Why can't life be simple?

Why don't plod just leave it out?

If there was that much of a point in stopping nicked Jap imports getting in then they should be checking them at the docks before they're rolled onto the quay!!! Instead of allowing owners to get shafted somewhere down the line after buying them mad.gif

Rick are you talking about a 300 here?

Well, It isn't exactly a Z this time but it could just have well have been.

Funny thing is, that it was checked at the docks and i have what looks like official paperwork. when i came round to registering the bugger, the old bill came for a nose and the rest is history.

The copper that came had a folder full of cars that are all going the same way.

timmy they are checking em on the docks, always do goes with customs checks. Also apparently the docks are a wash of police today when they went down to pick up an integra and CRX. But back when we picked up our Z we got out and it hadnt even been cleared by customs! The security didnt want to see the pass he just said off you go have a nice ride.

It's good isn't it. Plod can't catch people who chuck acid over your car or rob your stereo but they can put a whole fucking force into action to stop cars that are already imported. HHhhhhmmm, I wonder if they're getting cash from the Jap insurance companies to do their dirty work?

I bet if you got your chassis number BEFORE you imported the car and asked them to check it they wouldn't be interested !!! Feckers !

An insurance company might though ....

mad.gif That Quentin 'Tarantino' Wilson! mad.gif

oh god banzai do you know what a dick you are?

Has anyone ever considered that the police are corrupt.

god where i come from its difficult to find the ones that arnt.

Hiya,

I wouldn't have thought that many 300ZX import cars were stolen, as the trade is usually in newer, more expensive machinery now.
