Yeh Andy it does, but that is the company I bought my stolen car from!

That looked like a deal, now the old bill have it and it doesn't look so much of a bargain!

Why can't life be that simple?

Good point and if you buy direct like this then you have real hassle dealing with the company back in Japan, rather than a local dealer.

On the up side most of the stolen vehicles are the expensive Skylarks and those nasty fat 4x4 things, a 10 year old Zed is not a big catch in Japan.

Thats what I though. Mine was a '91.

i hope ppl arent stealing urls from me here wink.gif. Anyway on the scale of things that is a blind ripoff. If you buy a 1993 u have to put it thru the SVA too which will bugger you for a lot of money. If importing buy ones that are older than 10 yrs. My dads mates kinds sub-company has bought about 15 cars from these peolpe and they are very good to deal with. We have a freshly imported one sitting on our drive right now a CRX del-sol from the docks today. The only really dodgy place to get cars from is the middle east they are well dodgy

So what's an SVA cost ?

Mine was under 10 years old and I didn't have an SVA, think it was only 6 ...

200 quid for the test, and they penalise you for stupid things like the brakes being too good, the steering wheel being 1 degree off, having a cup holder for gods sake! Im not joking either, if you fail one of these u need to pay for another test. If you bring anything in newer than 1997 then u have to go into eSVA which includes stuff down to the frequency of the alarm fob!

Actualy i'm waiting for a reply from Tau at the moment. Hope they can shed some light on my car. I'll keep you posted.

Buy the way my SVA tests only cost me £35. If you look on the sight though most are not worth buying. Add the cost of the car plus £600 average shipping plus £125 agents fees and sundries plus 10% duty add it all together and plus 17.5% vat. Now repair it and sva it. Total Loads £££££££££.
