Just fitted my after market Boost gauge (my series 4 hasn't got a stock gauge). Problem is I'm only getting 6.5psi max. My understanding is that stock TT should get between 9~10psi. Any ideas. Chris@GetGreddy reckons it will be in safety boost and I'll need a conzult. Anybody got one up in the NE. And if so, do they know how to sort this problem?

If anyone thinks it may be something else, please shout up.

I'm getting a Greddy Boost Controller fitted this weekend and was wondering if the Controller may fix the problem, or should I get it sorted before fitting the Boost Controller?

Cheers

Steve

DEFINATELY sort the safety boost problem before fitting a boost controller as it will overide the safety boost which is there for a reason

heres a link to do your own ecu diag by fitting a boost controller wont clear the problem sounds like you have code 34 det sensor you can fit a resistor along the connection if thats the case, but to determine if your in safety boost you dont need a consult link with DIY ecu test http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html

Excuse my ignorance but if I find that the problem is code 34, how do I fix it. You'll probably have gathered, I'm no mechanic

prob the det sensor, mines ****ed, use the resistor trick, been like that for a year now and no probs. if you get get you can tell by the sound and rumble, the det sensor only works below 3000rpm i think

the det sensor is located under the plenum so it's an engine out job to change , might be worth checking the connector first and buzzing it out with a meter

think i'm having similar probs got a boost controller fitted and can't get it to boost abouve 8psi.

boost controller will overide everything else ... check that it has been fitted correctly. You won't go into safet boost with one of them ... so check
