hi not been on for a good while, and am i happy to be back, hello everybody.

 

now for the help i need.

 

is it possable to miss time the engine and get it running without doing and damage. the engine will run but only just and he hasnt revved it up. just aswell i think.

 

me brother has or thinks he may have got his timing wrong and needs to no if hes killed the beast within.

 

any help asap. as hes been rebuilding the engine in this car for months and realy s--ting him self to think he may have to take the engine apart all over again.

when my timing was out the revs would not go over 4000rpm.

 

Its probably some sort of electronic limiter which kicks in when it knows the timing was wrong.

 

Maybe this has happened to you?

 

You can have the timing wrong and do very little damage if any. It depends on how much the timing was out and how the car was driven during that period.

Most common is to have the belt a tooth out, in my experience it doesnt do too much damage if you dont thrash it. If this is the case, its simply putting the belt right. Hope hes lucky :)
