Which of the rear red lights should light up when the light switch is turned on...and which should come on when the brake is pressed?

On my car only the outer lights seem to be lit, unless you touch the brakes...in which case they all light up.

I was passed on the M40 earlier today by a UK spec car which had both lights lit at the rear,it set me wondering.

Jez, I believe all 300ZXs have dual filament 21/5 watt bulbs fitted to all 4 elements (2 each side).

I have an imported 2 seater TT, and I am sure this is the same as a friend's 2+2 non-turbo import also.

So all 4 should work both on Stop and Tail. However - being an import there is a need to have a rear fog light. This is done in numerous ways, and your circuit could have been altered?

Hope this helps? Geoff

Thanks Geoff,

I will have a look and see what type of bulbs are in there, and see if they are dual filament or not.

I haven't got a rear foglight or switch for one,but it's worth investigating

Turns out that the inner two bulbs had had one of their contacts masked out with tape,so preventing them working.

I've now got a full compliment of rear lights.I just don't know why they were masked off.
