Hi all

Whilst collecting Julia's car from the garage Saturday I noticed they had a nice imported 350Z for sale so i managed to get a test-drive......

I have to say I was VERY impressed - it is an excellent car all round (But I think the interior finish is still better on the 300)

OK it lacks the straight line sheer grunt of the 300ZX TT but it is still a fekking quick car and there is still plenty of torque so that the 'box doesn't require constant stirring. I stuffed a Boxter S on a dual carriageway with ease

And it revs straight to the red line - plus a trick "limiter" light flashes when you hit max RPM.

But drive it on a twisty country lane and it leaves the ZX for dead - on familiar bendy unclassified roads (with the odd adverse camber) where I blat around in the ZX at 70-80 I could manage 100 comfortably in the 350

OK it may have the finish of an upmarket Renault but as a drivers car it is truly superb - I may have found the car to replace my ZX with afterall...........

Richard :x:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

:D Going to take the Ragtop one out on mon the 23 ;) cant wait :hyper:

Sounds good.....or you could upgrade your old worn 14 yr shocks and springs, fit uprated Sway bars and polybushes and save a lot of money and still have the better car :D

No, no, no - this is not what I need to hear, as I'm just planning a trade back in the opposite direction!!

TBH, I think you'll find the interior fit and finish better in a UK 350 than an import, I believe refinements in this area was one of the reasons its launch was delayed. So I'm told, anyhow.

You're right, though - it is a fine driver's car, but it does miss the extra shove in the back of booooost!! :D

CheerZ,

JB.

P.S. Of course, if you really wanna replace the 300 with a 350, perhaps we should talk... ;) :D :x:

Yep, my instinct is a box-fresh Z32 might give a Z33 a bloody nose.

I'm kind of trying to save up for a 350Z but am not sure. For the same money a clean 2002 Supra might be a better bet. Spend an extra £1000 and take it to 400bhp.

Or a 1999 Maserati 3200GT(boomerang lights!). Now that would be sweet.

Aw well I can't afford any of them anyway.

This WOULD make a huge difference, my old Z32 was way quicker than my current Z32 because the suspension was spot on, this one's poo.

Really .. hmmm

Noooo!

Just gave the ZX a thrashing on the way to work this morning and I just love the thrust as the turbos kick in .....that 50-100 is awesome.

The 350 is still a great car none the less and I would probably get one over a 7 year old XKR - newer car and Nissan reliability.

Maybe the best option would be to upgrade my suspension, fit poly bushes etc to improve the handling but my ZX still corners pretty good for a stock car - it's only had real use since I've owned it so it's not wallowy like some shagged ones

Anyway, I think I'll just hang on to it
