Saw it in the Sun newspaper today. Jeremy Clarkson got pulled by the police for smoking a fag whilst driving..

Now I know you gotta be careful on the road but FFS.

This sound like more a case of spotting a Celebrity they dont like, and doing him for some rediculous petty offence that they can just about get away with. (I was'nt aware it was illegal, but I guess they think they can get away with charging him for not having full control of a motor vehicle)

of course mate, being the vain egocentric **** that he is, that wouldn't suprise me at all .. LOL

I think he's excellent, I dont always agree with what he has to say, but he says it no mattter who it upsets, Also apparently he has his office in his house and he doesnt let you in unless you are a smoker....quality.

I couldn't agree more - FFS, it's one of the few personal spaces left where you can have a fag without fear of someone bleating. And they're few and far between these days.

 

And, yes I have given up - but I still miss being a smoker desperately.. It's more fun to be a social pariah, than one of the masses! Just fancying one now, as it happens.

IIRC, a while back some woman got done for eating a digestive biscuit while driving!

What you have to remember is the article was in The Sun, so there was probably a large dose of writers poetic licence. I can assure you it is not an offence to smoke while driving, well not a normal cigarette anyway! There is every possibility he was speeding, not the most sensible thing to do when so well known.
