I'm finally getting around to prepping my headlight panel for spraying, and wondered if anyone has done this before? I can drill the holes out easy enough, but what about the ventilation slits? Anyone got any tips for clearing these out (dremel, knife, saw, kango)?

Any tips appreciated!

Hi Steve, I drilled a hole then used a small hacksaw blade to cut the hole just inside where I wanted the vents, then used a dremel to get the exact size, be prepared to get covered in white dust tho :D I guess a face mask would be suggested by the proffesionals, I then put some mesh in the vents held on with glass fibre inside, personally I was never happy with the fit of the one I bought off ebay so went for one from Zcentre which is a lot better.

Thanks bud! Did the Zcentre one come pre cleared (as in the pic above)? I bought mine second hand from a member on here so I'm not sure of it's origins

The Zcentre one came with the vents already cut, but the mounting holes needed to be drilled which is the easy part, for me the curved part at the top which goes along the front edge of the bonnet wasnt right, it was too curved if you know what I mean, I think it is best to fit it before painting and have a look, then you can sand it down a bit if it needs it, I have spoken to others that bought them off ebay and had no problems, so maybe I was just unlucky.
