just dug out 4 migs from my bits n bobs drawer - two of them say 1-0.040 on them and look new, two of them say 0.6 on them ( ) and look used!

my second ever mod to my Z was JWT and jets, but being a newbie i didnt really understand what they were ( ) just asked the mech to put them in!

please tell me i didnt have 0.6's in! i think ive got 0.8s in at the moment. whats the 1-0.040 mean then?

lol, no ive still got the same ones in (hopefully 0.8's). what would 0.6's give you? a peak of 18 and a spike of 21   :wack:

tearful goodbye standard tubbies

i agree - suddenly finding out youre at 18psi of boost is scary - in more ways than one. for some reason mine has settled down to a more sensible 16.

Great news on the conversion mate! :hyper: do you miss the old shifter or not? clutch is fine on mine buddy - do you mean vacuum-assisted?

Havent driven it yet mate, its 90% done now, just wating for my new custom centre section when MR.Powerflow pulls his finger out, Leather from a very cheap source(hopefully), and a few clips and pipes from Zedworld and I am ready to go!!! :D :hyper: Getting quite excited now although before I can drive it I need it 4-wheel aligned an then hopefully its off to JD to be remapped.... :duffer:

Yes mate, vacuum assisted as I dont believe you had the vacuum tank fitted inside the inner wing?

Yes my clutch is vacuum-assisted - came with the rest of the kit - I think the manual balance bar is involved there. Don't get too technical on me tho Mark :) Jeff will be able to answer that question.

LMAO, best way for you to check mate is to look at the balance bar and see where the pipe goes (remember that extra one we spoke about in another thread?), it should go to the inner wing but if yours is like mine (ie. no vacuum tank), the pipe will go straight back to he bulk head where the clutch pedal is. :D

I think I remember Jeff tellin me that yours isnt vacuum assisted... :)

ok so let's pretend for a moment i dont know anything about how this works (cough), whats the difference between the line going to the vacuum tank in the wing, and the line going straight to the pedal?

...just in case other people need to know. My mate's also interested too.

and my mum.

Well, I dont see the point of going over stuff you a;lready know but here goes anyway mate: ;)

This is what I believe although any teccies please feel free to correct me, the vacuum tank acts like a resevoir?! for the clutch system to build up pressure. This then reduces the pressure needed to depress the clutch. :hyper:

I believe that without this, the clutch is harder to press?!? I could be wrong mate but thats my overview.... :smash:

Let your mum know what I think I know... :D cheers :p
