Air Filter but which one???????????

Ok guys I need your help here.

I currently have a jap tt with a single hks mushroom filter on it and have just bought a british tt with stock air filter. Do I go to the effort of swapping them over or do you suggest I by a new twin air filter like an apexi?

Problem is there is so many different ones out there and I wanna do whats best for my zed. Cheers, GLENN ;)

The Apexi comes as the most recomended filter, but you dont need the Twin setup.

Just the Single Apexi Induction filter. Danny at DTA (check traders forum) sells them for around £85 I believe.

You dont need Twin but some of us have them ;)

Apexi all the way as far as filters i have a twin apexi but single sufficient for induction be aware though if you decide to put twin on it draws a hell of a lot of air. I had to plus up my super afc2 when i went to twin :D

Hi Glenn,

Got your e-mail and have responded.

Single A'PEXi: £85 + £5 special delivery

Dual A'PEXis: £140 + £8 special delivery (must have a confirmed order for the pipe work with Smithy though)

Let me know which way you want to go with this.

No A'PEXi's in stock at the moment - ETA middle of next week.

All the best,

Dan

Sorry to jump on this thread but i was thinking of doin the same in near future but what happens to the airflow meter thingy on top of current air box?????

You'll retain the air flow meter (AFM). The two pipes merge to one point which attaches to the AFM. In theory this will limit the amount of air you can pass through and the ultimate solution would be to have two AFM's (one for each bank) but that would require a completely remapped ECU, etc.

Oh right cheers for quick reply, thing is im not goin to go thru all that trouble so what would you suggest would be best for for better air to this motor as there is so much restriction, had a vectra once and was easy on that but i understand this is a different setup altogether. is it best just to stay with panel filters?

Best way to free up the air intake side of the business is to install a cone filter. Many makes about (Blitz, HKS, etc) but I would strongly recommend A'PEXi's (not only because I'm the main A'PEXi induction kit supplier to this forum but also because they are rated very highly in independent tests). I've already quoted prices above so feel free to contact me any time if you're interested in purchasing one.

how must HP can the A'PEXi run? all the quotes I've seen for the blitz etc suggest a max of 400bhp.. hence why I've gone for a dual system coming over from the states

Luke

I would reccomend JWT Jim wolf Tech from ultimatez.com in the states. Made by a racer for a race car. And they are on sale at the moment too

My HKS one was utter crap and degraded inside of two months

Thanks for that Dan, remembered today that i had a cone filter in the garage that i decided to install cos bored, come off another car i once owned. it was only £15 new so doubt if will do anything, prob is they all look the same but do they do the same, surely not that much in it?
