Hi

I have just bought a very nice 1990 Twin Turbo (import) and need some advise.......

I want to service the car are there any dramas i should consider when..

1/ Changing the plugs

2/ Oil and filter

3/ Fitting an induction kit

I also want to increase the boost am i right in saying i need to upgrade the chip inside the ecu and then add a boost jet? what is the boost jet and where does it go?

What sort of psi should i look to run and what sort of increase should i expect to see, can anyone recomend a good suppler for the service parts and upgrade kit, what sort of cost should i expect to pay for the induction kit?

I found the engine sound under boost to be a bit tame (although f**** quick) will the induction kit give it a bit more of a noise?

Is fitting a boost gauge hard?

Can a good quality bleed valve be used to increase the boost and if so where is it fitted?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions!!! :hyper:

All of those fitted are easy.

The hardest is changing plugs, but being platenium plugs, they last for 50,000 miles.

The best thing you can buy, is a subscription to the club, for 20 quid, you wont go wrong :)

Yep, subscription to the club should be on that list too ;)

Be carefull removing the coilpack connectors for each spark plug.

Oil and Filters are simple.

removing the old Airfilter housing to fit induction kit is a bit fiddly , but pretty simple.

I'd recomend an Apexi induction kit, many of the Traders sell it for under £100

It will give a slightly deeper induction note, although its position means its not as loud as when fitted to cover cars IMO.

If your running stock exhaust, and want Increased noise and better note, then thats your best bet.

How do i join?

sorted !!

Have just joined, Thanks

For boost jets you just need some MIG welding tips from you local auto store. 1.0mm will give you around 1 bar boost. But you really need to upgrade your ECU for fuelling at same time.
