Morning all,

Just want to check the best place to fix the inductive pickup from the timing light. I've read on TT.Net not to use the black wire from the PTU and it said you can just clamp it around the wires coming off the no.1 coilpack. Well I tried that and it didn't seem to like it :(

How have you guys done it?

Thanks

Vijay

Hello mate,

It doesn't seem to work properly with the clamp open :( It's a snap on timing gun if that makes any difference

i could never get my timing light to work on the inductive loop either. best to make a lead up & pull no1 coil pack out, fit the lead between the coilpack & plug. pick up from there ;)

The best way is to buy a single HT lead, then run that between No1 plug and coil pack. Clamp the gun on there.

This is the way I had to do it.

just stuff the pickup in the small space between the plenum and coil #1.

Works with both my timinglights
