Guys,

Anyone know of a good garage that will do a decent tinting job?

Cheers,

Dan.

South coast tints in southampton hampshire maybe a bit far for you unless youre down this way....I ve used them quite a few times and i 100% recommend them Good prices too normally a tad under £200 for a whole car any style of tint you require.. http://www.sctints.co.uk/ ... :D

sounds good to me mate....just over 2hrs away from me though so need to get somewhere a bit more local i think...cheers though will check em out.

It depends how you look at it..

Fuel there back!! time, Cheaper, good job done??

If you can find a good price locally then i suppose it makes sense but im used to driving miles to get parts for my Zed as thats what it takes sometime's to Keep the cost's down as much as poss... :D

If you've got one locally, get it done at Pentagon auto tint, they are the best around.

They done one of my zeds 2 years ago and pentagon charged me £500+

Sctints only charged me £190 inc vat and guaranteed the tint on my latest zed

A guy in Wickford as you are in essex is pretty good, and very reasonable prices. I had my 4x4 done (9 windows in total) total blackout at the back fading to lighter at the front, and all he charged was £225, if you want his number pm me.

PaulC had a blinding job done by one of his contacts, presumably will be in the Kent area somewhere ....

Ive heard you have let 70% light in on the sides and 75% on the front....will this guy stick to that??

Seen pics of yours, did you have that done or go for a darker tint?? Yours look like they have some silver in them or is that just reflection in the picture?

mine are special ;)

front side windows are 70% tint to be legal, rear glass & rear sides can be as black as you like. the front windscreen cannot be tinted at all

...there's a tint specialist up the A12 at Martlesham Heath in Suffolk. If you want I'll get details.

cheerz

Bring it up here.

I tint for a living.

200 is a fair price.

To stay legal - 75% visible light must pass through windscreen, 70% through front side windows, rest of windows can any shade.

BUT - no responsible tinter will tint the windscreen. Tint does have the transparency of glass and at windscreen angles, distorts the view somewhat. Also, eben tinting light on the windscree, then puuting tint at that angle increases darkness, reducing visibility.

We have to go out on the roads as well, so wouldn't touch the windscreen.

Cheers guys but fink im going to have to leave it as ive been told by my insurance company that if i have it tinted using film rather than proper smoked glass replacements they will not insure the car?!!
