Wandering if any of you have recently purchased a front strut brace from this company on eBay. The company is 2fast2cool.

Do they fit OK, ie, they don't fowl the sound deadening under the bonnet?

Cheers

Steve

I think there was some issue with it coming very close to the inlet plenum at the back....about 1-3mm clearence.

As we all know the engine is on mounts and can move so might touch at some stage

It was one of the members on here..he posted pictures..i'll see if i can find it.

It looks very nice and bLiNgY but is it worth the risk

It was MarkyB300

You can see in the picture how close it comes.

Might be worth giving him a PM and see if its been ok.

His was also purchased from that same company.

Looks triffic though

also he said..."What the sellers don't tell you is you need to replace the fixed/rigid fuel lines and vacuum line over the plenum, so you also need some of each of those."

Cheers mate.

I'll send him a PM later today.

I've already got Smithy's braided fuel lines fitted, so may be OK. I was going to replace all my vacuum lines anyway.

Any other comments about this type of bar?

Any other comments about this type of bar?

I bought a set of Megan Racing strut bars from the same seller Steve. Good comms and quick delivery! Can't comment on this particular bar, although I've seen Marks and it does look very nice

Steve :)

I bought a Megan front brace a couple of months ago and it was a shite fit. :headvswal It was fowling the sound deadening under the bonnet. I even cut three squares out of the material to try and get it to fit. I thought I had it cracked, however, after a few miles, I noticed wear against the underside of the bonnet (metal/metal). It was catching right in the middle of the brace.

Don't know if I got a dodgy one or what.

Cheers!

Mine seems fine bud! However, I removed my blanket a long while ago... Certainly not noticed any abrasions yet!

Steve :)

* EDIT * I think that most front braces require some cutting of the blanket. Certainly shouldn't be any contact with the bonnet though :(
