The paint will have faded over time, you'll need to get someone to mix/match up a shade that's right.

Also, different manufacturers often have the same name for different shades of the same colour, Halfords probably isn't your best bet - need a specialist.

Hi Kev

I've worked at the Nissan factory (Paintshop) for over 17 years. In all that time we've only ever had 2 whites (this is the same in Oppama factory, where the Z was made). The first white was coded 002 and was used on cheaper cars (Micra's etc). The second was 326 and was used and higher grade cars. This used to be called "Super White". About 15 years ago, 002 was discontinued and every Nissan white car, to the best of my knowledge, was painted with 326. We've used this colour ever since. You need to bear in mind that the colour drifts all the time, from dark to light and from red to blue and green to yellow etc. etc.

Hope this helps

Steve

i'm not sure it's funny that halfords and everyone else call it artic white and it is generally a more creamy white to the white on my z so anyway have just been to my nissan dealer and bought a 326 white from them the only difference is the paint from nissan is cellulose and the other brands are acryllic but the nissan paint is a pretty close match only prob is it costs twice as much as normal aerosols

Was this on the shelf at halfords or did you have them make it up ?

I've just been to halfords today and got them to make me up the metallic black from the colour code, and I noticed that all the measuring is done by hand. Possible the guy that mixed it did'nt measure correctly ?

If it was out of a can of the shelf then...no idea, other than that White paint can be suseptical to fade/alter over the years.

In which case it would probably be best to take something easily removed, like the original nose panel to a Paint supplier or bodyshop and get them to create a matching colour.

hi david the paint i bought was off the shelf as my local halfords dont mix paint on site but have tried paint from various places they are all pretty much the same colour (more creamy than the white on the z) plus thay all call it artic white where as in an earlier post by steve nissan only use super white but as i posted the nissan original paint is as near as damit so it looks like the after market suppliers have got there codes wrong somwhere
