Can alarm interfere with the power supply for AVC-R???

as above?....Im loosing my settings on my AVC-R for :-

1)It looses the rpm limit(example 7000rpm)

2)The boost level display(example 1bar or 2bar)

3)The car select (example 2spd or 6cyl)

It does not loose the actual boost setting

It does not loose the Duty Cycle

Only thing I can think of is that it has been wired to a non permanent live feed. The other possibility is that my alarm "TOAD" is interfeering with it and cutting the power like an immobiliser.

Any ideas chapes/chapesses?

The ACVR gets its feed from the ECU power. If the alarm is cutting the power to the ECU then its possible. But I dont know whether the AVCR should hold the information that you are missing.

If the alarm is cutting the power to the ECU, wouldnt that mean that your ECU is getting reset every time you leave the alarm on for a few hours?

i got an RSM and S-AFC2 and they keep their settings ok. have you got one of those dodgy AVC-R's which need to be recalled? someone else started a thread about them earlier.

Its possible bud.....i got mine on the 15th march...so pretty close to the period concerned.

Allthough they said it was a proccesor error and I would of thought this was a power issue...having said that if it was a power issue then shoudnt it loose all the settings?

I have emailed them and well see what they say

This is one of the replys i received concerning the recall of AVC-R's :-

"If you are having problems with your AVC-R, or you didn't install it pending Apexi's outcome, this e-mail will apply to you. If you installed it and it works fine, you can disregard. If the unit is affected, it will either work or not work right away."

I have also found that my unit does actually hold the Boost Bar level...ie 1bar or 2bar....but only on a single function display (the boost gauge dial)

SO it all works fit and dandy for my needs :nana2:

if i remember correctly steve its wired to the ignition switch that feeds the ecu, so its not got a permanent live feed, it was wired as per instructions ???

I have just looked at the wiring diagram, tomorrow i will put a multi meter on the ECU to see if the pin we wired it to is permanent live ?

only problem baz is surely the avcr will remain on if you wire to permanant live instead of battey live?
