Just rebuilt the engine however the can will not tickover or rev. When it first starts all is well then as the revs drop the car starts to splutter and pop then dies. if i unplug the MAF it will idle a lot better. I have fitted the maf to another car (Cheers Justin) and it works everytime.

Any ideas guys?

Would still try a known good maf mate as my car will idle happily with it totally removed!![found this out cos' I forgot to refit the fooker once!]

sounds like you've got a big (vacuum)leak somewhere...since starting the car or unplugging the MAF will cause the ECU to add extra fuel.

Done anything special/different to the setup as compared to before the rebuilt ? injectors ? (555's ?) dual intake system ?

Was the ECU/chip changed ? any errorcodes ?

Cheers mate, was thinking along those lines. only changes were EGR is now gone. other then that its back the same as i have always done. only thing i did this time was as i say EGR removed and also had the AAC/etc apart to clean it out. wonder if its that.
