I don't have that one Mac. I use the one that you can use on your PDA. Can't fault it TBH .. really happy with it. You can get the free speed camera software for it as well which is good. It managed to get me into Sutton Coalfied from Kidderminster with no problems at all.

It is also so easy to change between vehicles. That one looks like a bit of a PITA and BIG.

HTH

I had the PDA version, which is basically the same, and it was superb.

The POI add-ons are also fantastic...Speed camera locations, nearest Shell Optimax garage..etc..etc

I can't fault it TBH. As you said the POI add ons are very cool. If you get a adapter for the lighter that plugs in the mains you can even sort your route out the night before and just plug in the car and go.

Yes...to greg a few months back....as I now have full in-car computer with sat nav on 7.5" touchscreen in-dash monitor ;)

but..even although this new Sat nav software runs on a Full Computer...it still not quite as good as the TomTom software for the PDA :(

Mac have a look at the garmin ones

might be a bit more than others but they are the *****cks

ive had pda's and a couple of dedicated sat navs

obviously the didicated ones you can't move from car to car

most of the pda's excellent they are, but to many wires

this is the one i have

http://www.garmin.com/products/sp2610/

one wire straight to the ciggie lighter, only downside of this one is a bit bulky to stick in your pocket, and you can't hardwire it as the speaker is integrated in the wire, but SO easy to move from car to car, and navigation is 2nd to none

the other one that looks quite cool is the GARMIN QUEST

Mac,recently bought a Mitac mio with TOM TOM s/ware,thing I liked about this one is the PDA has a built -in gps receiver!-only wire need is the charge lead! or you can run on the battery of course and be totally independant.

Got it from http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk good service too ;)
