Can anyone help me!

 

My car has failed its MOT on a few small things, one being that the boot won't open:(

 

If I pull the lever in the cabin then the boot interior light comes on and I can here a small noise of the catch doing something but the boot lid wont actually pop.

 

I can't open it from the outside either, the key won't budge.

 

I have sprayed the hell out of the mechanism with WD40 and still no joy.

 

Any ideas?

my zed came with two keys 1 fits everything the other just the doors so if locked with the key it wont open from the inside

Im not absolutely positive but I think the boot release and petrol door are cable, maybe yours has stretched a bit, however i havent a clue how you would adjust, I asume at the catch end with the boot open, sorry i cant be of more help

as i said in the other thread, you need to lower the catch down so that theres pressure on it when the boot is closed. Fetch the trim piece off, theres 3 bolts, loosen them, push it down, tighten them, should do the trick, unless it was like ours when obviously someone ham-fisted had tried it before and stripped the thread off the bolts, nothing that duffer couldn't help out with though :).

I will give it a try then take it back to the stupid MOT place and tell em to pass it!

You lot are stars! Boot took me all of 5 mins to fix and the car sailed throught the MOT this morning:)

trust em 1 bit to even sit in my zed

Did they actually fail it on the t/gate not opening?-sounds like b*llocks to me ! :confused:
