After very nearly buying a RS500 Cosworth the other week (one of my ultimate cars). Wondered what other cars you have in your garage, on your drive that you are passionate about, apart from your Z. Kitcars? Classics?

Thats the Spookmeister, or Spooky to everyone else. None of your fancy thoroughbred dog though, £50 from a farm in North Wales as a pup  , though both parents were proper working dogs.

He's the reason I own the Vectra estate rather than a saloon car - not that that's any excuse though

All you lot with TD Xantia's. How many mpg do you get on average and are they really that reliable. I am always worried about the flashy suspension they have going wrong and costing big time to put right.

I wouldn't mind one as a daily driver sometime.

You should have bought it!!

I had a NEW one when they were launched. P/xed my original non 500 version to get it!

FAB motor! Sold it at new price 9 months later.

I have the dubious pleasure of driving a Pug 406 diesel estate for daily use and a weekend choice of my slick top 300 or my original 71 240Z as seen at recent Midlands 300 meet.

Love em both!

TBH i think the xantia is a bargin of a car people are put off by possible high bills if the suspension goes, but if you work it out the suspension is no more expensive to fix than other cars and mine has never caused me any problems. mine has done 173000 miles ans still goes well, plus she carried a zx gearbox in the boot all the way from north wales to bristol, with the supension levelling itself so i wasnt looking at the sky. Its my wifes car and she loves it, she said she wants anouther when ours finally dies

Pete, I did put a small deposit down, but backed out. Wasnt the right one for me, still plan to get one, or an absolute mint non 500 version, maybe next yr. Need new boiler and possible new roof for house!

Barry.

Can you post any pics pete of the 240?

i cant cos Im an idiot without a digi camera :mac1: ,but if you look under Midlands meet section for the Peterborough meet, Daves newZX has done one!

1.8 Mondeo and a mk3 Supra turbo :)

Just the Z now. Up until last weekend had a 1998 Renault Clio RXE 1.6. Did about 40mpg. Z seems to do about half that or less. Oh well, not why I bought it. ;)

Vauxhall Omega 3.0 24v Elite Auto (minus headlamp washers...still well p1ssed off about that! Thieving f\/ckers) :(

FFS tim why dont you sell a few of those sheds and get the Z up and running. You too scared to come to JAE incase Mr G gives you a bottle of brown ale and you end up soiling yer bags.

FFS Timmy if you sold that lot on Ebay then you would probably scrape £500 together now get rid and put the Z back on the road FFS lol

Well I wouldn't sat Passionate, but I do have a Ford Escort Mexico!! :D The only problem is that it's a 1995 MK7 version, which means it's a base model with 'leccy windows, a sunroof and a Mexico badge! But it gets me to work and back ;)

I currently have a 1994 Toyota Estima Lucida (Wife's) and just got myself a '91 Mitsubishi GTO NA until I can find another 'decent' Zed. I must say, I'm really happy with the GTO. Never really looked at them before but this was an impulse buy at only £3K.

Cheers

Dom

Daily drive is a Primera 2.0 SVE (I like it), wife drives a Renault Clio and my brother in law's Zed TT or Lexus IS200 sits on my drive depending on what he's driving..

Pity for decided to ruin the mexico badge by putting it on a base model. I used to own a MK1 RS Mexico which had a 1740 burton tuned engine in, great car.
