Hi all

Anyone using datascan on their Conzult system - via USB to lap top ?

Having difficulty with the USB connection - is there a special approved lead i can get anywhere ?

Thanks for any help - Mike

datascan software isn't compatible with the (genuine) conzult hardware, so I'm afraid it will never work.

Im not using a genuine Conzult - its been made to work with datascan

Just need a lead that convert USB to seriel - and that works, because th standard (but it in staples) jobs - dont work

Im running Datascan with a generic USB to serial adaptor, it worked fine once I had installed the drivers for the adaptor.

Thanks chrisP - may have to get one of them

Legrath - Ive installed the drivers for the lead etc - i connect it all up and when i click the Datascan symbol - it just says

Error code ?????

It used to come up with a screen where you could press "Diagnostic Test" but now it doesnt - if the lead is connected or not i get the same message when i click on Datascan

Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but its exactly the same - any ideas mate

Ps - appreciate this

It could be that the particular adaptor you have is not suitable. Although, When I click connect without cable plugged in, I dont get an error message.

It took me a while playing with port numbers to find the right one.

If it helps the Adaptor I got was this one of ebay :http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=42322&item=6760754863&rd=1

tis the same one as ive got mate - i think the port number is the issue

Did you have Datascan set to autoconnect, in the communication settings ?

If so, and the port no longer exists that its trying to connect to, then it crashes. You'll need to unintall it, then delete its entries from the Windows registry.

(Go to start->Run and type regedit. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\NDataScan and delete the whole NDataScan entry)

Then reinstall, and select correct port.

I can try it again later now woohoo

I take it i just try different port numbers till i get the correct one ?
