Whats the fastest. A 300zx? A GTO or a Supra twin turbo. Or the top skyline. Also why do you guys think the 300zx is better than supras, GTO's ect ect. I really just prefer the look of the Z myself. It really does look powerful, where as a supra looks cheep looking and the GTO well Im just not keen on that. And skylines and Evo's and scoobies simply look like famliy cars gone. So come on explain to me why the 300zx is the best out of the big jab supercars?

I don't know what you are talking about with 0.4 differences. Look at the 60-100 and 60-130 mph times. The Supra destroys the ZX at those speeds by whole seconds, and you can bet your alloy wheels that it took more than 20 hp to do that.

The road tests and dynos prove that 11.5 psi makes more power than the rated 320 HP, but every peice of proof I provide, all I get is childish retorts and "oh i dont care anyway." ignorance.

You may not care about what a Supra does, but you certainly do care about the 300zx and where it ranks up performance wise.

Hang on guys, we've virtually all agreed that a stock Supra TT is quicker than a stock ZX (certainly in UK spec - the J-spec Soops had 280bhp as well, until the later VVT TT engine). :confused:

 

Also to compare the performance (not BHP) between UK and US spec ZXs is not like for like - the USA spec TT was an SWB only and therefore at least 100kg lighter. (All US spec 2+2 seaters were the N/A).

 

The exaggeration of USA BHP figure comes from their claims for some home grown yank-tanks. There are loads of claims of their V8 mustangs, Trans Ams etc having 400bhp+ but when they are actually dyno'd they make only 200 or so.

 

Let's not forget most recent Japanese cars are "limited" (yeah right - r34 anyone??) to 280bhp ;) In reality Nissan, Toyota etc just quote the BHP at 280 to satisfy the "gentleman's agreement" when the true BHP is often somewhat higher. :slap:

PS I have to agree with Anh about the Mk3 Supra turbo - a very underated car indeed. I had 2 before my ZX and they were a tough act to follow :bow:

who cares there all friggin stupid fast cars, each one has there + and - 's. its down to what you want at the end of the day. i dont compare my car to the mk 4 supra as it wasnt around when mine was built, when it came out it had to be faster of it would not be an icon as it is today. All of the cars listed are icons in there own right, i say more people like the looks of the 3000gt over the zed, you could say that the zed performs better, but is that in a straightline or all over? the supra is faster, yes it is but it had to be, it didnt start production till way after the zed 32. The skyline is stupid fast but isnt it has too many gadgets for my liking and as i like to be in my car, the interior sucks. scoobies and evos will murder me off the lights but not midrange, but then again some of the new diesels can keep with a zed mid range. for its price, its looks, its sound, its interior, its club, its performance be £ for me the zed wind this debate every time. If i had 10 grand i would personally have a 911, but i dont so for 5 grand the zed wins every time.

Have you driven a Skyline? All the stories about these cars driving themselves because of all the gadgets is bullocks! They get tail happy like any other car, the 4WD system on the GTR doesn`t work the way you would expect it to in a sharp corner. I have owned and driven both, if you want an addrenalin rush buy a 300, the Skyline needs to be pushed much harder to get a buzz because of the safety features incorporated in the electronics.

As to the original question which is the fastest, where are you racing? round the lanes a scooby or evo will leave a 300 or a Skyline due to size and gearing, on a straight the 300, Supra and Skyline would all depend on the day and driver.

I dont understand this sort of thing. I never feel the urge to go to other car forums and start quoting this figure and that figure, that sort of chat is for McDonalds car park. I really dont care what other cars do, people here own Z's because they choose to. If I wanted a Supra I would buy one ...simple.
