Just went to fit mine (again) as i got an ebay one and the belts wouldnt fit, so i got an sgp one with belts from smithy. BIG problem, the powersteering belt wont fit - its too short

Just wondered if we are doing something wrong, as this was the same with the ebay pulley we tried to fit aswell

Is there a way to get it to fit ?

Im sure its the correct part - and we have taken the PS pump off to give us more play - but it still wont fit !!!!!

Please help - as the car is in bits infront of me now

i had this turn the heating on and squeal like feck after fitting pulley noticed the belt was to loose on the alternator tightened job done, you can reach the tensioner from under the car anyhow :)

I get it everytime i start the car for about 30 secs. turn on the heating i can make the squeel start again for about 30 secs.. its doing my head in :(

yeh mine did that when you switch the heating on theres more load on the engine-alternator so any sqeal will be more noticable, mine did it fo 30secs or so until the fan turned on then would dissapear..its either overtightened belt or to loose, either way it will solve it

cheers guys, will have a mess about this weekend. will keep ya posted

til then i'll keep waking the neighbours.. kind like it but i dont if you know what i mean :x:

Well i can tell yer mate, for the Alt belt on a UK car it should be48366-1013 that is the correct size and doesn't squeel, so i guess yours maybe a little too tight for it, if that's the case i would assume it will snap. The other belt as i say is a fraction smaller than all those using an SGP pulley kit, so just bare it in mind fella.

hth

cheers

What I want to know is "Does it improve performance or is it just extra hassle when the belts need changing" ?? please advise. Users only not dealers :)

Yes, have a search bud.

Reduced weight and smaller circumference, means quicker revs, more throttle response and about 10-15 bhp.

Mate your a true star - thanks ever so much

We have sorted it - dont ask

Brute force conquered all haha

Thanks again mate

exatcly the same here!! if the belt was cm smaller it wouldn't have fitted :D
