There are 3 bolts "i think" holding each downpipe to the pre-cat/manifold. once these are removed and the cat itself is un bolted then the whole pipe should come away. All the de-cat pipes I have seen are connected like this. I know the series 2 has a primary cat but this also should not be a problem to remove you big wuss ;)

Hello Steve,

Mate the only probs as far as I know were a couple of bolts from the turbo to the down pipe things, awkward to get to but if you have a ramp to work on or a pit it won't be a problem for any half competant mechanic :D If you want to remove the bolts working from the top of the engine I think someone has said that you have to remove the master cylinder, so just get it on a ramp.

Oh yeah just remembered the guy that did mine said the ebay pipes were ever so slightly off & had to re-drill a couple of the pipe holes to get the bolts in but again nothing too major

HTH

Good luck!

Cheers,

Chris :smw:

 WHO Me

I know what your saying bud...."you get what you pay for" :smash:

But these are less than half the price of the UK ones which are imported anyway (and that includes Tax/Duty/P+P)

oh yer....and I get new o2 sensors with them included

They themselves would cost the a third of the price of a De-cat system in the UK.

Even if the pipes fall apart (wont coz stainless steel) after a couple of years Id of broken evens by getting the o2 sensors with them.

CHING CHING

all the more money for bLiNg

When it all goes pear shaped i'll say..."its Daves fault...he told me to buy em"

You have a point Ste, most UK sellers inc eBayers sell pipes which have been imported. The majority of these products come from Japan or China and on the whole are good quality. UK prices are high "well apart from mine" :D

just remembered i still havent sent that cheque dave, knew i was supposed to do something yesterday DOH.

So how much did it cost in the end and did everything fit ok?

Hi...

eerrmmm....So far its cost me £140 for the tubby divorced manifolds and de-cat pipes including shipment from the USA.

Im expecting a Duty/Tax charge at some stage in the future of around 1/3rd of the total cost so will not be to shocked when that comes through.

but even so i will be looking at the better side of £200.

The package will be marked up as gift and marked down in value to reduce the cost of Import/Tax/Duty....if this works I will be paying next to nowt for it...but always expect to pay it..that way when you dont its a brucie bonus...(buggers can take a few months to send you a Tax/Duty bill)

As for fitment...not fitted mine yet but am expecting them to be delivered this week.

Hexaking(baz) has just fitted his and they were the same make "MEGAN".

Dont think he had any problems with the fitment so fingers crossed.

Hexaking De-cat fitment

will keep you informed of any major fookups...
